Rush Limbaugh's First Address to the Nation: CPAC - 2009

Rush Limbaugh Destroyed Liberalism, Democrats, and President Obama this afternoon. His arguments were clear, simple, and were his rhetoric knives, they'd all be dead. All this while giving Conservatives everything we need to do the same. His presentation was a beautiful one hour and twenty-two minute treatise on the superior character of Conservatism... one-hundred twenty-two succinct, accurate, and devastating blows against the machine.

This is not over by a long shot, folks.

Learn To Think For Yourself...

In comments here, I ended with:

"[that was snark, btw]"

But on second thought, no it wasn't.

Ben wants us to believe that because he quotes an unsourced opinion that that calls into question Jindal's story, but he will laugh at any one who suggests Obama is not eligible hold the office of president because he wasn't born on American soil, and issues of adoption and such. He and other Liberals have one standard of proof for themselves and another for everyone else, especially conservatives who have the audacity to stand up, let alone speak up.

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE embellishes and amends the events of their lives. We tell ourselves and others lies to the point we begin to believe our lies-- we blur the lines between truth and fiction. Everyone does it.

Ben's unsourced quote questions Jindal's memory. Why? Because the source Ben is listening to dislikes what Jindal had to say... how dare he speak against Obama!"... or some such other reason. At the very least his source distrusts Jindal's boat story.

On the other hand, Obama's Kenyan grandmother distinctly remembers attending his birth in a hospital in Kenya. Can she not tell the difference between Hawaii and Kenya? Is she so old she doesn't remember where she was when Obama was born? We all tell ourselves lies. Obama could have put all this to rest by presenting a birth certificate. But he has not. And almost no one on the Right wants to hold on to the constitution long enough to demand he do so... something besides a "Certificate of Live Birth," which is different than "Birth Certificate."

So who do you want to listen to? Do you want to listen to people who have an obvious ax to grind in destroying the life and credibility of another person? Or do you want the truth? Because, truth is, very few people actually want truth; they want whatever best suits their need or desire. Ben doesn't like Conservative thought? Fine. None of us who post here like Liberal thought. But the verity of our arguments are not determined by our preferred political ideologies.

Ozark said he relied on bloggers he trusts for his opinion of the whole affair, and that's fine as far as it goes. But that is no substitute for first-hand observation or personally formed opinion. I listen to Rush too; he's both very informative and entertaining, but I've learned in the last few years that I can't supplant my his thoughts and ideas for my own. How can I ever defend what I believe if all I believe is what HE says? If someone asks "why," what am I supposed to do? Send Rush an email and hope he responds and gives me marching orders? Uh-uh. No sir. You cannot adequately defend something you do not personally believe; and when I say 'believe' I mean 'personally invested in' ...unless you're a shyster lawyer.

Is Obama a legal citizen? What does it matter? He's in office, democrats control both House and Senate, and no vote to defrock him will ever occur. Is his grandmother correct? Did she really witness his birth in Kenya? Again, it doesn't matter.

Does Jindal remember the events of Katrina differently? Does it matter? Really? Democrats politically castigated Bush for staying at the ranch. They ridiculed him for just "flying over." They rightly cast doubt on FEMA chief Michael Brown for FEMA's pathetic and deadly response. So why would anyone doubt the scenario Jindal offers wherein a FEMA bureaucrat demands proof of insurance before taking the boats out to rescue Katrina victims?

Too many people are listening to and relying on others for what they should believe about any given subject or situation. It's inevitable; with what is going on in the world today it is impossible to glean first-hand information about everything that happens each and every day. Which is why we have to be careful; try not to let our own biases and prejudices cause us to gravitate to voices that ONLY reinforce said biases and prejudices.

If Ben's unnamed source can prove Jindal misspoke he or she is free to do so, but we all saw the devastation in New Orleans. We all saw the bodies. We watched with awe. And horror. We laughed when Wal Mart was able to get in where FEMA could not. And now I'm expected to believe that Jindal was not telling the whole truth?

Who is Ben listening to that he accepts the voice of someone over the evidence of FEMA's disastrous showing in the aftermath of Katrina? What ax does Ben's source have to grind?

The answer to that is obvious. Jindal said some things that were true and, in the mind of Liberals, antithetical to Obama's position and vision of the future of America.

Jindal did NOT shoot his proverbial wad, but too many people are listening to and accepting the opinions of other as their own.

Wednesday morning, in the office Ben and I share, Ben made the statement that he thought Jindal sounded like he was addressing a bunch of first-graders (or the equivalent of --Correct me if I'm wrong Ben), and I replied, "I didn't hear that."

I DID hear what democrats were saying about Jindal... just what Ben said. But I did NOT hear Jindal talking to elementary school students. He was talking to me. He was talking to you (those of you who listened). He was talking to Ben. Was he as eloquent as Obama? No. Few are. But look how far we've come from judging a man by the color of his skin to the content of his character. And yet we've come no great distance at all in judging a man for the content of his ideas rather than the quality of his oratory.

If we are to judge our politicians by HOW they present their arguments rather than the content of their arguments, GOD help us all. We deserve every disaster they give us.

Whether you know it or not, whether you accept it or not, that's where we are now. It not an Obama reality. It's a Washington reality, and it encompasses more than the current ass warming the president's chair. It's not just a democrats, its republicans too. God help us all if we don't kick every last bastard out.

"The strength of America is not found in our government. It is found in the compassionate hearts and enterprising spirit of our citizens."

Show me someone who objects to this and I'll show you someone who places politics over people.

Obama: Mentally Unqualified To Lead

He feels injured, humiliated and empty when criticized. He often reacts with disdain (devaluation), rage, and defiance to any slight, real or imagined. To avoid such situations, he socially withdraws and feigns false modesty and humility to mask his underlying grandiosity.

His interpersonal relationships are typically impaired due to their lack of empathy, disregard for others, exploitativeness, sense of entitlement, and constant need for attention (narcissistic supply).

Though often ambitious and capable, inability to tolerate setbacks, disagreement, and criticism make it difficult for him to work in a team or to maintain long-term professional achievements. His fantastic grandiosity, frequently coupled with a hypomanic mood, is typically incommensurate with his or her real accomplishments (the "grandiosity gap").

He derives his Narcissistic Supply from his intelligence or academic achievements.

He is either a covert or inverted narcissist.

He has an exaggerated sense of self-importance, but is also articulate, energetic, outgoing, and achievement oriented. (The equivalent of the Cerebral narcissist).

He wants to feel important and privileged to ward off painful feelings of inadequacy and loneliness. (The equivalent of the Compensatory narcissist).

He has an exaggerated sense of self-importance, feels privileged, exploits others, and lusts after power. (The equivalent of the Classic narcissist).

These are all traits of Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

They are also all traits of Barack Hussein Obama.

Obama has a mental disorder. He needs to be removed from office.

Tea Party? Give Me a Break!

This bullshiite about the Great American Tea Party is just too much and indicates PRECISELY what is wrong with the conservative movement today! Having a lawn-party, waving signs, and TALKing won't do a danged bit of good! The brave patriots who risked life and limb to throw the East India's tea in the drink MUST be rolling over in their graves! How's about growing some 'nads, and refusing to pay TAXES...THAT would send a message to the king!

All this talk about revolution is just so much drivel. A collective "up-yours" to Obama and his brood in Congress by means of drying-up their piggy-bank would SURELY mean change!

UPDATE!!

A related story is titled, State Officials Ban Tea from Tea-Party

Liberals will stoop to any low to suppress free-speech, eh?

"Oh, God!" Parts 1&2

You've probably read by now that during MSNBC's coverage of the SOTU last night, one of the cable network's staffers muttered an audible "Oh, God" as Bobby Jindal stepped up to the mike to deliver the Opposition Rebuttal speech. I don't know why the righty blogosphere is so up in arms, though. I mean-we ALL know that MSNBC is an extension of the Obama cabinet...and we also ALL know that the GOP is sorely lacking in leadership!

Personally, I purposely did not watch either the POTUS' address or the Republican rebuttal. After reading the back-and-forth on the blogs, though...and the commentary by bloggers I respect, I'm convinced that America truly is on the slippery slope and there is no John Wayne figure willing to step-up and stop its destructive descent!

Sarah Palin CERTAINLY is not who America should depend on to pull Americans' heads out of their arses! And Jindal? He shot his proverbial wad last night.

So...on this occasion, I totally agree with the off-camera utterance by the MSNBC/Obama staffer!

Oh, God!

UPDATE!!

Earlier today, I had to use the company van and tuned into our local talk-radio station to see what Rush had to say about Obama/Jindal. As he sometimes is, Rush was wrong about how conservatives are treating Jindal today. The VERY reason this nation is so deeply divided today is because the GOP has not figured out how to express the principles upon which they stand on the national stage. George W. Bush failed miserably in even TRYING to learn to look into the camera as he spoke...essential in reaching the public when delivering a message! The GOP doesn't have the balls to stand-up and speak straight to the American people!

Jindal, I'm sure, had the potential to become what America needs in a conservative leader. However, by allowing the GOP to dictate his delivery last night, he indeed spent what spunk he may have had!

God help us!

Ban The Boorish?

For the sake of all who visit, that they not be so put out, I will endeavor to restrain myself from settling into a routine of merely mocking the boorish visitors like Feodor, despite how strongly his personality begs for such a response. It won't be easy, but I think it's the better move. Of course, should it be part of a more substantive comment, then I make no committments. But as to those comments that are just mockery alone, I will do my best.

I'm not one for banning people like Feodor, or even deleting inane comments (as long as they don't cross lines of propriety). I prefer to let people make asses of themselves. I consider it beneficial for society that jackasses are easily recognized. Yet I realize that to engage in abusing them, no matter how much pleasure it brings me, is not why people come here. (Geoffrey thought he was coming here to laugh at us, but he never explained what he thought was so funny to him. I doubt he knew either.)

So rest assured that I will do less to give political/philosophical/religious opponents a reason to stay away. Blogs are no fun at all if there is no exchange of opinion. Let the debates proceed.

This Has Happened Before - It Has Happened Again...

"Do not blame Caesar, blame the people of Rome who have so enthusiastically acclaimed and adored him and rejoiced in their loss of freedom and danced in his path and gave him triumphal processions... Blame the people who hail him when he speaks in the Forum of the ‘new, wonderful good society’ which shall now be Rome’s, interpreted to mean ‘more money, more ease, more security, more living fatly at the expense of the industrious."

I found this quote at Lone Ranger's place. It bears repeating. Can't blame Obama for being what he is, the blame lays squarely on those who voted Arrogance personified into the White House.

Hypocrisy Has It's Panties In A Twist

1) Barack Obama did not write the Stimulus Bill.

2) Pelosi and Congress wrote the Stimulus Bill (House bill).

3) The aforementioned panty-twisted hypocrites had no such qualms or sense of decency when referring to George W. Bush as a "Chimp," any more than they did in supporting and defending idiots like Michael Moore, Fifty Cent, and the producers of the George Bush assassination film.

4) As funny as the cartoon is, a chimp really is dead.

5) It would seem dissent is now a crime. Especially to the hyper-sensitive "yes, I'm a victim" Obama worshipers.

6) And with the death of "Dissent" our "Descent" as a nation of rights and freedoms is blatantly apparent to anyone but the Left.

7) What's next? the Fairness Doctrine? It's already on the table because the Left hate's dissent unless they are the purveyors of it.

8) Which makes the Left hypocrites.

9) I laughed hysterically when I saw this, and I can honestly say, thought's of Obama danced not one step in my mind. I saw Nancy Pelosi there... the Democrat Party there.

10) I am unswayed by your accusations of racism, though said accusations have yet to be posted. I believe such accusations are ludicrous and worthy of intelligent debate. If you can't see the cartoon for what it is that's on you, not me.

11) Barack Obama is not a king, emperor, messiah, or God in human flesh. He is a one-term president.

12) This is funniest (yet tragic considering the "real" chimp) I've seen in a very long time.

13) Al Sharpton is a Race-Mongering bigot of epic proportions.

Here's what columnist Bob Parks had to say:

First of all, while Al Sharpton is predictably going off assuming the chimp was a depiction of President Obama, who ever said he wrote the stimulus bill? I thought it was written by Speaker Pelosi, Majority Leader Reid, and staffers.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) parried GOP assaults on Democrats’ $825 billion stimulus package Thursday and refused to slow the bill down to give more time for Republican input.

“Yes, we wrote the bill. Yes we won the election, but that doesn’t mean we don’t want sustainability or Republican support,” Pelosi said.

I wouldn't think they would be immune from chimp status.

Now let's say the cartoonist was lumping Barack Obama and a "rampaging chimpanzee" together. It may be a well-known place never to be trod, but this pales in comparison to the eight-year onslaught of vile caricatures of President Bush with virtually no Boston Globes coming to his defense in the name of "sensitivities".

This is (again) Democrats doing what Democrats do best: playing the race card while we can still afford the deck.

The Devil's in the Details

I present yet another fine piece from the poorly written and racist AmericanThinker. This one shows a bit of the many detrimental portions of the so-called stimulus package. Whether the consequences likely to be suffered are unintended or by design can be discussed as well. The link isn't so much an article but an alarm of sorts, with the point being fleshed out more in detail in the adjoining links therein. I find it to be appropriate for a blog concerned with the Descent being brought about by the new administration by virtue of how these portions of the bill will reverse the progress made since welfare reform reduced the amount of people on welfare and raised them out of poverty into self-sufficiency.

As we examine this bill more closely, we can see why there is the rush to pass it and why the fear-mongering of the President of hope and change has only been talking about changing the direction of this country to one that is dependent upon big government led by the Democratic Party. What a sad day it was for America when back in November of 2008, so many uninformed sheep chose the greater of two evils to lead us to third world status.

Dull Blade In The Knife Drawer

I came upon this Ed Lasky piece from that racist and poorly written AmericanThinker in order to present more about the brilliance and intelligence (*gack*) of our heralded Commander in Chief. There are two links in the article. One is to the Washington Times article that spurred the piece to begin with. It's a must read. The other is to a previous Ed Lasky article that speaks to his "creds" as a legal scholar. That article has a number of links itself and at this late hour I haven't had the chance to enjoy them all.

When one thinks of all the crap that was made public regarding GW Bush's life before politics, his time in the oil industry, his ownership of the Texas Rangers, his college days, and how all of that was used to demonstrate how unfit he supposedly was to be president, it becomes more and more clear just how in the tank the press has truly been when articles like these expose the true cut of Obama's jib. Is there anything this guy has accomplished beyond bamboozling liberal chumps into supporting him? It doesn't appear so.

That Obama was totally inadequate for the position was well known to objective observers, most of whom were on the right (though some were on the left supporting an equally unqualified Hillary and John Edwards). We conservatives were dismayed at the less than conservative moves by Bush, particularly in the waning days as he tried to spend our way out of our economic woes. We were even more dismayed by the quality of candidates during the primaries, as the most conservative of the pack were eliminated, leaving us finally with McCain. But as we watched across to the other side and saw what was happening, how it came down to the two most liberal, and then finally to he who was obviously the worst possible choice, we could only hope and pray that the fence sitters and the disgruntled on the right who were feeling betrayed would see Obama for what he is now showing himself to be more than then, an empty suit. We could only hope and pray that libs weren't really that stupid. Sometimes prayers aren't answered. We're screwed. 2010 can't come fast enough.

Charles Darwin took his first breath 200 hundred years ago today, February 12, 1809. Today, though his "theory" still plagues our schools and culture, according to a Gallup Poll fewer than 4 in ten believe in Evolution... just 39%.

Sadly interesting, 24% of those who attend church weekly believe Darwin's theory. They're willing to believe that 'nothing made everything.' Personally, I believe it's easier and more rational to believe God made everything out of nothing.

The More Things Change The More Things Stay The Same

Now that Tim Geithner has been confirmed as Treasury Secretary, Tom Daschle has withdrawn as HHS Secretary and Nancy Killefer has withdrawn from some government post I had never even heard of (chief performance officer?), we can infer some new rules in our changed government.

1. It is OK to cheat on taxes, but of course there is a limit. And that limit is more than $34,000 but less than $128,000 in taxes owed if you are a Democrat. (For Republicans, the limit remains the perception of thinking about adding $100 to your charitable deductions without the receipts to back it up.)

2. We now have a new way to get tax cheats to not only pay up, but to apologize for their errors and carelessness: nominate them to Cabinet posts. We've already collected $162,000 and public apologies from just two tax cheats that way. Nancy Killefer is a third, but I don't know the amount. Perhaps Charlie Rangel or William Jefferson should be nominated to replace Daschle.

3. We might have a new method to elicit information and apologies from enemy combatants without resorting to torture, sleep deprivation, stress positions or defiled Korans: nominate them to Cabinet posts. It's too bad we already waterboarded Khalid Sheikh Mohammed; we might have obtained his confession and plans of other terrorist attacks simply by offering him the position of Secretary of Defense.

4. When we are desperate enough (as in the current economic crisis, or at any time in the last 80 years), neither competence nor ethics matter in a nominee as much as speed of confirmation. If you either can't do your own taxes correctly, or refuse to do them honestly, you can still be put in charge of tax audits and collection. If we ever have a crime crisis, for example, Charles Manson stands a good shot to head the FBI.

5. Of course one lesson is the obvious one: if you thought "change" meant getting competent and honest people with no ties to special interests into influential government positions, you can now consider yourself suckered. I put the lesson this way: you vote for a Wizard, but you get a man behind a curtain."

"Hypocrites." What more can be said?

"The messiah of November has disappeared, gone off to winter somewhere in another galaxy and lounge among the stars. Who knows when (or whether) he'll return. He left a gloomy surrogate with a melancholy message.

The messiah promised "change" but so far demonstrates only that the men we send to live in the White House have changed. FDR called our stoic grandparents to the fireside to tell them there was nothing to fear but fear itself. They believed him, pulled up their socks, survived the Great Depression and went on to fight and win a great world war.

Dr. Doom tells us that fear is the best friend we're likely to find. Ronald Reagan arrived in Washington to clean up after Jimmy Carter, demonstrated that it's still morning in America, and won the Cold War. Dr. Doom tells us that it's late on a dark and stormy night, grovels toward Mecca, and tells ghost stories.

Dwight Eisenhower

"This recession might linger for years," Dr. Doom, aka President Obama, told us Thursday. "Our economy will lose 5 million more jobs. Unemployment will approach double digits. Our nation will sink deeper into a crisis that at some point we may not be able to reverse."

Woe is definitely us. Why worry about bird flu, global warming or a speeding rock from outer space if we won't be around to see any of those disasters? This is scant reassurance from the confidence man of summer.

In a piece of op-ed commentary in The Washington Post, he puts a little realistic distance between himself and credulous Republicans and other conservatives. "I reject these theories [such as tax cuts], and so did the American people when they went to the polls in November and voted resoundingly for change," he writes.

This will come as big news to a lot people who took a flyer on Mr. Obama, persuaded by his friendly embrace of the idea that cutting taxes is good, and his promise not to bother anyone earning less than 200 grand. That was then. Now he only reminds us that he's the president, and we're not."

The End of the Slippery Slope upon Which We Find Ourselves at Present

And you wonder why I've retitled my blog?

America is CROAKING!

How The Stimulus Bill Will Waste Our Money

As most of you know, I rarely simply link to an article to make my points, but there is so much in this, which is a speech by South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint before the Senate, that I can't just copy and paste all the excerpts. I will post this one:

This bill is not a stimulus, ladies and gentlemen; it is a mugging. It is a fraud. Conservatives who fear proponents of this bill want to inch our economy closer to European-style socialism are kidding themselves. The proponents of this bill want to strap a big rocket on the back of our economy and launch it all the way to Brussels!

It is all insightful and a worthy read.

You Libtards should read it, and pay attention.

Barack Obama: Murderer-in-Chief 3

First Blood via the Followers of the Cult of Obama!

You must be very proud of your president and the murderers he protects, Liberals. Very proud indeed!

Frustration

There are simply too many things going on with Barack Hussein Obama, I can't focus on just one of them. Any one of his decisions have the potential for driving the United States of America over the cliff to our doom. And amazingly, he has accomplished this much in less than two weeks!

At this rate we will have a full blown Marxist dictatorship inside of two years.

I don't know what to comment on first.

I fear we are witnessing the final death throes of the United States of America.

Obama is intent on change, alright. He wants to change this country from the United States of America to the United Soviet States of America.

From his first day, every thing he has done is a disaster in the making. From signing the order to close GITMO, suspending trials for the terrorists, cutting our military budget by 10% (that's just the beginning of the dismantling of the military, mark my words), threatening to abolish free speech, to the capping of Wall Street executive's salaries.

What gives Obama the right to dictate (key word)how much executives can make? What gives him the right to limit how much any one can make? Today it's the Wall street executives. Tomorrow it may be you. That's Marxism at it's worst!

Can't the American people see what he's doing?

He has the power and he has the political backing of the other Marxists in the two houses of Congress, and if he stays in office long enough, and has the opportunity, he will pack the Supreme Court with Marxist judges.

He is taking us further into Socialism with every executive order, with every pronouncement, and with every concession he makes to the enemies of our country. And I include on that list enemies of America who call themselves Americans while actively trying to undermine America's security and freedoms.

What has to happen for Americans to rise up and throw this Marxist bum out on his ear? Does he have to declare himself "Dictator for Life" before the American people wake up and see what he's doing?

So. What can we do? We need to clean house, that much is certain. But, how do we do it?

I don't have anywhere enough of a readership to accomplish anything. I feel as if I'm talking to a wall. I have no power to lead a grassroots movement against this traitorous government.

But we need to act. Now. We need to let our voices be heard. Now. We need to throw these bums out, and the sooner, the better. Perhaps, if we move quickly enough, we can salvage what's left of our liberty.

Make no mistake. Obama is systematically destroying our country. And he's not even being subtle. He is blatantly dismantling the Constitution before our very eyes and we seem to be powerless to stop him.

We can write our Representatives in Congress. We can jam the Congressional switchboards with our calls. We can take to the streets and shout our frustration to the world. But the problem with that is this:

The media are in the tank for Obama, and our protests will not be heard. The Democrats in Congress are backing Obama, and will back him all the way to our death, and most of the Republican Representatives are spineless. They will sit back, watch, and complain.

Which is, by the way, the only thing we ordinary freedom loving Americans can do.

God help us all.

Well, That's All I Needed To Hear...

"Every month that we do not have an economic recovery package 500 million Americans lose their jobs." - Nancy Pelosi

Well, then... I'm convinced.

We obviously need to give a Gajillion Bazillion dollars to ACORN and NARAL as soon as possible!

Good grief!

Unintended Consequences

It's nice that someone takes the time to read all the stuff packed in the stimulus package. It's nicer when that someone knows what he's talking about.

You know, when this blog was suggested, I thought it was a good idea but wondered how long it would take to see anything that would suggest a true descent for America. Yet, there have been so many articles describing what turns out to be obvious flaws, if not outright stupidity, in what Obama has done in the first two weeks of his admin, as well as what he intends to do down the road, that a whole blog simply filled with link after link after link of Obama analysis might have been easier, and then those of us who knew better than to cast a vote for this dude could've read and laughed at how his sheep would defend him.

The link offered here illustrates how the loons think and how what passes for thought will affect the health care industry and of course, by extension, us. It takes time to study all this governmental stuff and I'm glad people are doing it. I recall during the Clinton years, when Hillary completed her monstrous health care plan, how it seemed the only people who read the damn thing were Republicans like Newt Gingrich & Co. and how foolish were the Dems who tried to argue against them for it's acceptance. Seems the same is happening now with Obama's plans. Y'all better pay attention to what Obama's doing and what it will mean in reality, not in rhetoric.

Bye, Bye, Miss American Pie... Hello Police State

Obama is, if nothing else, true to his word. That alone should scare the excrement out of you. He said we

[C]annot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

Say hello Defense Department Directive 1404.10[PDF]. It's billed as a strictly support force for military operations overseas. What happens if there's nothing overseas to do? Do we as taxpayers pay them a salary to do nothing? Or will they be paid like the National Guard?

On the surface it looks benign. What will it look like after it begins to grow... perhaps fester? What will it look like when no one is able to buy a gun or keep it loaded and available for self-defense? Gun Owners of America offers an analysis of one particular current house bill [111th Congress] H.R. 45...

This bill would require a license for handguns and semiautomatics, including those currently possessed. The applicant must be thumb-printed and sign a certification that, effectively, the firearm will not be kept in a place where it would be available for the defense of the gun owner’s family. The applicant must also make available ALL of his psychiatric records, pass an exam, and pay a fee of up to $25. The license may be renewed after five years and may be revoked. Private sales would be outlawed, and reports to the attorney general of all transactions would be required, even when, as the bill allows, the AG determines that a state licensing system is sufficiently draconian to substitute for the federal license. With virtually no exceptions, ALL firearms transactions (involving semi-autos, handguns, long guns, etc.) would be subject to a Brady check. In addition, the bill would make it unlawful in nearly all cases to keep any loaded firearm for self-defense. A variety of “crimes by omission” (such as failure to report certain things) would be created. Criminal penalties of up to ten years and almost unlimited regulatory and inspection authority would be established."

Falling Faster

It is incredible how bad things are already on the culture front. This piece shows that we ain't seen nuttin' yet.

You know, it's frustrating to comment on the sad state of affairs regarding human sexuality in America. It grieves me deeply to see the direction we are heading and to see how willing some are to get there. Too many look upon such as being of little consequence while we now deal with the consequences of having fallen as far as we have. Fall deeper and the consequences will increase in number and intensity. Whether the consequences are foretold or unintended doesn't matter. What does is that they are unnecessary but for misbegotten attitudes that serve as invitation to their destructive effects. Traditional values of honor, integrity, self-discipline, service, etc, have been at best, re-defined, but in truth rejected in favor of meaningless and misused replacements such as tolerance, social justice, and diversity. To hold fast to the former would mean the latter, in their true definitions and benefits, would be a given.

As to the linked article, such things don't surprise me, even though they disgust me in their impudence and selfishness. A great policy would be as follows: I seem to recall that some state or states, Texas may be one, officially determine gender by chromosome. That is, if one insists one is female, and tests show the presence of the y chromosome only men have, then no matter the outward appearance, that person shall be legally referred to as "male". I like it. It reflects reality perfectly and prevents the confusion that the Massachussetts travesty will undoubtedly foster. Those people who insist that they are truly of the opposite sex will have to deal. I encourage professional help.
