"All That Really Matters is Me, Me, Me"

"NASA is the biggest black budget black hole in existence, sucking in over 30-billion-plus dollars of taxpayer money for the fake moon landings alone, but it is about much more than just money. You claim “a flat earth theory cannot be used to devalue our spiritual selves.” Yet this is exactly what has happened.

The modern atheist big-bang, heliocentric, globe-earth, chance, evolution, paradigm, spiritually controls humanity by removing God, or any sort of intelligent design, and replacing purposeful divine creation with haphazard random cosmic coincidence.

If the earth is the center of the universe then the ideas of God, creation, and a purpose for human existence are resplendent. But if the earth is just one of billions of planets revolving around billions of stars in billions of galaxies, then the ideas of God, creation, and a specific purpose for earth and human existence become highly implausible.

Death of the Salesman? Don't You Bet on It

Here is the summation of a great article from AmericanThinker.com, posted by Art on Facebook:

The Democratic Party wants to give American citizenship to the world, but the communist virus is a timely reminder that the illegal and uncontrolled flow of people across our borders not only depreciates wages and destroys American culture, but also sacrifices the lives of American citizens.  The misery of Chinese communism created this virus, and the misery of Democratic Socialism seeks to spread it across the United States.  Border security is health security.  And energy, steel, and manufacturing independence is independence from overseas tyrants.
What fascinates me most is the knowledge that otherwise intelligent people don't see the error in their political aspirations and designs for America. They talk about freedom and equality for all while espousing a political philosophy which is antithetical to the aspirations and design of the framers. How is this possible?

Deception is the answer. They are liars (the Establishment leaders/controllers). The Party is not a collection of Free Thinkers, let alone American Thinkers.

Tired of the Hypocrisy of Liberalists

When Loretta Lynch met with president Clinton last year there was little (if any) cry for resignations and independent investigations by liberals in Neo-Amerikansk. Ms. Lynch neither resigned nor recused herself from her position as Attorney General, or as top attorney in the Clinton Foundation investigation.

Today, Pelosi and Schumer, as well as liberal "thinkers" are calling for Attorney General Jeff Sessions' resignation for not being "clear" during his confirmation testimony, about his meeting with the Russian ambassador in his role as senator ~ not as attorney general, not as nominee for attorney general. One such meeting was on the sidelines of the Republican Convention last August. The other in his office in September. How many other senators did the Russian ambassador visit with last August, and how many were democrats? How does this warrant resignation, or recusal from any FBI investigation of Trump? Would this make the Al Frankens of the world happy? Hardly! liberals are never happy unless they're telling you what to do, telling you how to live, and telling you how to think, knowing you have no choice but to comply.

Liberals are cowards, moral and intellectual deficients. Hypocrites, one and all. If the truth were integral to liberal values, they would have never suffered so lame an excuse from Loretta Lynch after her unethical meeting with Bill Clinton. Nether would liberals have suffered Hillary Clinton to succeed over Bernie Sanders during the primaries ~  the DNC, instead, actively and secretly, plotted and employed dirty tricks to sabotage Sen Sanders' campaign. Clearly truth ~ and integrity ~ aren't integral to liberal values... they're antithetical!

Sessions should (and will this afternoon) clarify his meetings, perhaps even recuse himself from any future investigation of the Trump-Russians fantasy. Liberals and media won't be mollified, of course, nor accept anything less (perhaps not even that) than Trump's impeachment. But cries of foul from the socialist left, ring hollow, and more than a little hypocritical.

And let's not forget about Obama, who's staying in DC (with Valarie Jarrett) to foment discord and plot against Trump.

Where and Who We Are Now

I hadn't thought much about this blog ~ being almost blind, along with the tremendous challenges and frustrations it brings, this exercise in political protest was the last thing on my mind. But with the advent of President Donald Trump, came the memory that I once, with other like-minded patriots, fought, albeit futilely, the scourge of American Liberalism's premier socialist masquerading as a president. But our long national nightmare is over. Or is it?

When I wrote here religiously, I rarely let politics and morality ride in separate cars. These were not things I felt should be separated, politics and morality ought to be open lovers ~ no need to hide such a love affair; don't pull the shades! The question I was often asking readers to consider was why should any moral society throw water on the two like a pair of humping dogs? They're only doing what comes natural. But most often my detractors felt it was their right and responsibility to set the ground rules for any debate, for what was and what wasn't moral ~ the truth I sought to make people see was considered presumptuous, or out of place, or unduly preachy for a political 'discussion,' while the morality they proposed was sacrosanct. They wore their hypocrisy proudly.

President Obama's second win was demoralizing ~ a disheartening defeat ~ and I gave up. Fast forward four years... the long national nightmare ends with a stunning victory for the forces of Light. Honestly, I wasn't stunned, I figured he was going to win, but that didn't keep me from staying up until Hillary conceded.

I just couldn't see her winning. How so? Firstly, the media was so obviously blind to the crowds Trump drew, discounting their size as mere spectacle for the curious, the gawkers, and political-porn aficionados. They were blind to the harm eight years under the feckless rule of Obama wrought, whose only lasting  accomplishment was an improved golf handicap ~ though to be fair, there will be lasting repercussions to his two terms, even with the repeal and reversal of his legacy. And that's assuming Republicans will allow Trump to do what he's promised us on the campaign trail.

The media tried everything it could to drag the bleeding carcass that was Hillary's candidacy over the finish line. But when the smoke cleared, and the mirrors shattered, she was still the same bleeding carcass. After all, no matter how far a jackass travels, it will never come back a horse.

Hillary had no message beside 'I'm not Trump.' That was supposed to be enough, but the weight of scandal: Benghazi, private servers, and a disdain for more than half the electorate, with her basket of deplorables statement ~ all these and more were a weight around her neck. The democrat party, as well as the prospect of a continuance of damaging policies in the vein of Obama's failed administration, doomed her to failure every bit as much as Belshazzaers' epic party fail.

And her past... let's not forget all the scandals of her past. To say she was a flawed candidate is the greatest understatement in a hundred years or more. With all that, the media still tried to prop her up and carry her the distance. No one on the Left could see the truth. Any more than they can see the truth now. And the truth, quite simply, is the Left has lost touch... with the people, with the truth, with just about everything... if the Left were truly blind, they would be without sin, but the Left says 'We see!' Therefore they remain blind. Blind, yes, but still able to do terrific damage.

Theirs is a blindness of the soul, both individually and corporately. Jesus once asked, (paraphrasing) 'If the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness?' The darkness on the Left is such that what appears a blazing beacon of hope to their counterparts, is to them the light of a guttering candle at midnight. And if that is what passes for light among liberals/progressives and the democrat party, God help them. Bruce Lee once said, (again, paraphrasing) 'a man who has never known light, never known of its existence, will not seek it out.'  It will take earth-shattering events to break through the black caul of darkness that blinds these people. But when people call good evil, and evil good, can anything break through?

Now we have Donald Trump as our President. Gone is the most biblically hostile leader in American history. Now we have Donald Trump, whose wife begins a rally with, of all things, the Lord's Prayer. Donald Trump, who, whether he's a man of God or not, makes mention of God in his speeches; regarding Him as Sovereign in regard to his policies, making mention of Him in more than platitudinous snippets of speech penned by speech writers (as have so many before him). And this frightens the Left. This is the real reason for their hatred of Trump, not because he is a man of God (only God knows), but because he's challenging the darkness that is their world-view. They want a society devoid of Godly morality, preferring instead a society in which 'every man did that which was right in their own eyes.'

In Donald Trump we have a chance to save America, but it's by no means assured. The disease has metastasized throughout every system and segment of American life and culture ~ even in the Church and across every denomination. If we want America to return to the Light, we're going to have to fight harder than ever before. The evils are piled high against us. We are vastly outnumbered. Victory is not assured. America is not assured. But God has given us an opportunity to stand, win or lose. And that, my friends is all He asks... Stand.

The End of an Error. A New Beginning.

I have nothing profound to offer here, but it dawned on me that a site so keenly dedicated to the Descent of America under an Obama administration would offer some note of celebration or relief at having finally come to be out from under his reign.  Consider this that.

It may also be worth mentioning that the end of Obama's term doesn't necessarily mean the descent has stopped.  Trump's ascendancy seems in some ways to signal a turning around of the great ship of state, but at this very early juncture, that cannot be considered in any way a matter of fact.  He is the Donald, after all.

And there's that little matter of an incredibly divided populace, with one side in the throws of a very petulant tantrum that Donald is not Hillary.  That wasn't supposed to happen.  It's still shocking, in fact, even for those of us who were willing to cast our votes for Trump in order to deny Clinton her victory.  As such, Trump could pull off that hair, peel away his face to expose Jesus Christ Himself behind that weird facade and still the looney left would continue to lament her loss, criticize every action and basically, be themselves.  I am left to wonder how much different the response would be if Ted Cruz had gotten to this point.

So far, with only about two weeks in, Trump seems to be moving in the right direction, albeit with his typical goofiness and self-promotion.  But the actual moves are almost all correct, even if not perfectly implemented.  I can't help but feel, though, that I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.  I'm not keen on his "trade agreement" position, for example, and I believe that thus far he seems to be considerably off base on that issue.  However, that's just one against all the pretty decent stuff that's been done thus far.

The point here is that what he has been doing must pay dividends of some noticeable degree, such to the extent that his opponents must recognize and acknowledge them, in order to hope that the American Descent is not simply slowed, but actually reversed to the extent that we will indeed have made American great again.

But even that does not mean that the culture is saved.  If the character of the American people is not elevated, nothing else will really matter.  THAT descent is more troubling than our economy, or border security or anything else about our "greatness".

But at least the incessant whining will have abated.  That's a start.

Killing Them Softly... Real World

I was lent a movie last week called "Killing Them Softly." It's not a movie I'll endorse in so far as story is concerned; the film is rife with filth--particularly language. I felt very uncomfortable watching it, but I was told there was a pay-off at the end. And there was, of a sorts... a philosophical pay-off. In the very last minute of this film Brad Pitt's character, Jackie Cogan, a paid enforcer for the mob, is trying to get paid... but even the mob has had to cut back because of Obama's abysmal handling of the economy...

Barack Obama (on TV): ...to reclaim the American dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth, that, out of many, we are one...
Driver: You hear that line? Line's for you.
Jackie Cogan: Don't make me laugh. One people. It's a myth created by Thomas Jefferson.
Driver: Oh, so now you're going to have a go at Jefferson, huh?
Jackie Cogan: My friend, Thomas Jefferson is an American saint because he wrote the words 'All men are created equal', words he clearly didn't believe since he allowed his own children to live in slavery. He's a rich white snob who's sick of paying taxes to the Brits. So, yeah, he writes some lovely words and aroused the rabble and they went and died for those words while he sat back and drank his wine and fucked his slave girl. This guy wants to tell me we're living in a community? Don't make me laugh. I'm living in America, and in America you're on your own. America's not a country. It's just a business. Now fuckin' pay me.

When I heard this I was torn between wanting to defend a great American patriot, and shouting 'Right on!' at the television. In that one moment I was both Conservative and Liberal. What Jackie Cogan says is the truth. Jefferson did write those words, that "...all men are created equal." Jefferson did own slaves, had children by them, and allowed those children to continue to live as slaves. In short Jefferson was as big a hypocrite as there is. And yet we laud him for giving us this great country of ours.

The America I knew... the one I was raised to love, the one to whom I swore to 'support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic' has ceased to be THAT America... the one I was raised to love.

We have been, and are being, lied to. We've been played like puppets into a managed, or rigged game no one wins but the political class. We are being 'killed softly' each and every day by men and women we ask to represent us.

Short of dropping two, not one, nuclear device on Japan, Barack Obama is America's greatest modern mistake. He claims to be Christian, but does nothing remotely Christian in his daily life. He claims not to be muslim, but participates in muslim holidays. He goes to Mexico to speak with President Enrique Nieto, but not once mentions or asks about our soldier being held in a Mexican prison, nor attemps any negotiation for his release, but he will negotiate with terrorists for the release of another.

Liberals like to believe we are all members of one community, dependent upon one another. But this is a lie. We are not a community. We are not a village. We are not a tribe. We are not a collective of any such sort, except to say we are a nation filled with people. If anything, we are all pawns.

As Republicans and Democrats we are both fed trope and tripe of a particular bent and told to wave them like banners of truth. But they aren't truth, in and of themselves. They are only half truths. You will never find truth in any one political party. There's a little bit of truth in both, but neither one owns a monopoly on truth. Even ideologically, truth will never be found exclusively in one camp. You will not find Conservatism nor Liberalism to be sole possessors of Truth. What you will find, however, are puppet masters in both camps manipulating their followers, pulling strings and sipping tea on the beach while their troops die in waves.

Jefferson wrote, "we find these truths to be self evident..."  and so truth is. It cannot be truly manipulated; truth is truth, and falsehood, falsehood.

Many are saying this country needs to be woken up. Well, I disagree. I believe each and every individual needs to be woken up. You'll say I'm mincing words, but am I really? Our country is neither awake nor asleep; ideas and borders neither sleep nor eat. But individuals do.

And while we're sleeping, political enforcers (politicians and bureaucracy both) kill us in our complacency (beds).

More to come.

Had To Steal and Repost Here

thought this would be great for a rare post at this blog:

During the 3-1/2 years of World War 2 that started with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and ended with the Surrender of Germany and Japan in 1945, the U.S. produced 22 aircraft carriers, 8 battleships, 48 cruisers, 349 destroyers, 420 destroyer escorts, 203 submarines, 34 million tons of merchant ships, 100,000 fighter aircraft, 98,000 bombers, 24,000 transport aircraft, 58,000 training aircraft, 93,000 tanks, 257,000 artillery pieces, 105,000 mortars, 3,000,000 machine guns, and 2,500,000 military trucks.

We put 16.1 million men in uniform in the various armed services, invaded Africa, invaded Sicily and Italy, won the battle for the Atlantic, planned and executed D-Day, marched across the Pacific and Europe, developed the atomic bomb and ultimately conquered Japan and Germany.

It's worth noting, that during the almost exact amount of time, the Obama administration couldn't build a functioning web site.

This Is Going to Sound Insensitive to Some

Captured from the Drudge Report a couple days ago...

Here is a young man, new to the world of professional football. And he's admittedly Christian. Like Tebow. Is his stand as a Christian the reason for all the nastiness being thrown his way? Few, if anyone, are going to come out and admit that such is the case, and I can't say definitively that it IS the case. All I can speak to is what I see, and what I believe.

What I see is a cancer that has metastasized in the bones and deep tissue of our nations soul... a spiritual vacuum. Many will deny that it exists, but that doesn't change the fact--the FACT--that there is a growing disdain (to put it mildly), and a growing hostility for anything and anyone that "pushes" a belief that calls for a separated life; that asks its followers to live holy and separated lives unto God. The accusation is, invariably, that such people are hypocrites because so many of "them" commit sin. But here's the rub. It is impossible to NOT commit sin, and especially for Christians, because they are under far greater spiritual pressure AND attack than are the unsaved. After all, what need do the forces of evil have, truly, of attacking the unsaved? They are already dead-- spiritually speaking. Those who attack Christians for being "holier than thou" and "hypocrites" only demonstrate their ignorance in matters of grace. Those who attack Christians are actually trying to extinguish any light that may shine upon their own lives.

So, the lost have the temerity to mock, decry and defame anyone of, or anything proposed by faith in God, yet they call out to God in grief (as they rightly should) when a young man enters a school and murders twenty-six living souls. They call out to God on the one hand...

...but live as though he doesn't exist on the other.

Jesus said to the religious hypocrites of his day, paraphrasing... 'you claim that had you lived in the time of the prophets you would not have been partakers in their murders; but you proudly claim descent from those same men who murdered the prophets, and even now plot to kill me!' In other words, you play at righteousness by putting on an outward robe, but do nothing in your heart, let alone your consistent actions, to demonstrate there is any validity in your outward claim.

Jesus, then, said, "You who murdered the prophets...," but he could just as easily say today, "you who slaughter the innocent... tens of millions of them and still counting!"

Not a single one of those slain Sandy Hook children are in hell. I know that's small comfort to anyone with a heart, and especially the victim's families. I know it sounds insensitive, but I can't worry about that right now. There's a reason I'm writing this, and that is to point out something most of you have missed. This nation has spent the last several decades pushing God away, especially from our schools. Is it then any wonder that someone, some twenty year old young man, felt the need to walk into a school and murder children?

No... not a single one of those children are absent from the presence of God. That cannot, however, be said of a certainty of any of the adults who also died, even those who shielded the children with their bodies. Jesus said 'wide is the road to destruction, but narrow is the path to salvation, and few there are that find it.' It is my sincerest hope that not a single adult died without Christ, but...

When entire generations grow up within a godless system of education, what can we expect but godlessness? Many are questioning God's love because of what has happened, but few if any are questioning themselves. Take God out of the equation and something will, invariably, fill the vacuum. If we don't train our children up to fear and reverence God, they will grow up to be empty, and eventually bitter. They will look to find something to fill the void. For a few, when that search leaves them emptier still, they will resort to the unthinkable.

We mock those who fear God. And when we deny our children the right to carry Him with them to school, Sandy Hook Elementary is the result. In response to Sandy Hook America won't think to institute a bible reading program into the nation's school curricula. Instead, this nation will seek to deny firearms to its people. It was the gun which killed all those innocent people at Sandy Hook, not the shooter. Instead of teaching our children to fish, we're blindly lashing out and simply giving them a fish to eat... taking away the gun. We haven't taught them how to cope with the hopelessness that is living in a godless vacuum... we haven't taught them how to fish.

We claim to be Christian, but we don't do anything 'Christiany'. We drink, we smoke, we "sleep" around, we steal, we lie, and we kill. We allow abortion to continue unabated for decades. We allow just about every immoral penchant imaginable into our eyes, ears, hearts, minds, and homes. Then we get up on Sunday morning, put on church clothes, listen to the pastor preach for approximately twenty minutes, and think ourselves good Christians for sacrificing our Sunday mornings for the appearance of Godliness. In other words, we white-wash the sepulchers of our bodies without bothering to clean out the dead and rot contained therein.

Men who claim to be holy-- who choose to acknowledge God publicly --are ridiculed and discounted, while others who merely pretend at holiness, hold themselves up as paragons of virtue... all the while standing up for nothing but political parties, and the socials mores they defend.

To fix what is wrong with America would require teaching our students love and reverence God. The students have the ultimate say, of course, as to whether they want God or not, but they need to have a moral compass implanted into their hearts, or at the very least have some directions installed in their minds. Because what we saw at Sandy Hook can be traced directly to a lack of faith in the classroom. It can be traced all the way back to when prayer and the Bible were removed from the classroom.

As Jeremiah Wright was one heard to have said... "America's chickens have come home to roost."

And God help us all.

INSANE.... Spiritually speaking...

When half a nation divests itself of commonsense; when half a nation has no fear of God, blasphemy is not far behind.

I don't care to see blasphemy laws enacted here in the US; especially the one fronted by the U.N. (The only religion it would defend, primarily, is Islam). I believe everyone has the right to say what he wants provided it doesn't cause harm; the right to swing my fist, for example, ends at the tip of your nose, or crying 'fire!' in a crowded building.

So what can we say about Jamie Foxx who asked a crowded auditorium to "give an honor to...our lord and savior Barack Obama"? He was only joking? Who jokes about such a thing? A fool. A fool with no reverence for, or fear of, God.

This is what comes of removing all vestiges of God in our education and judicial systems, and public square. We are a nation who has forgotten God.

But Jamie Foxx was only joking!

I believe he was, but this is nothing to joke about. Barack Obama didn't die a painful and humiliating death on the cross to save us from our sin. God didn't so love the world that he gave his ONLY begotten son, Barack Obama, that whosoever believed on him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Barack Obama is not God!

That's right, Jesus IS God, and God is Jesus.

Now, what man is it the bible says will be revered and worshiped as God? Do I really need to answer that? Do I believe that man which the bible describes is Barack Obama? Certainly not. But neither do I believe Obama is a born again believer of Christ. And I can't imagine any born again believer saying what Jamie Foxx did, unless he was seriously backslidden, and his conscience dramatically seared.

This country is sick. It needs a healer. It needs a Godly prescription. Otherwise the cancer which has already metastasized in America's soul will surely kill it. And soon.

It's Your Fault

by Ben Kinchlow (formerly of The 700 Club)

It’s your fault! Yes, yours! Don’t look around, look in the mirror. It’s your fault, you hard-working nine-to-fivers, small business owners, corporate staffs, factory owners and workers. You are to blame for the current state of affairs in America, for the liberal (now “progressive”) oriented 49 percenters who voted Obama in for another four years. You are to blame.

Yeah, I know some of you are asking (some a little less polite but just as hot), “How in blazes can you say this is my fault? I worked my tail off to get where I am, and I don’t care what Obama says, I did build it!” Yes you did, and that’s the problem.

Let’s set the “way back” machine to the “revolution” of the ’60s. Remember? Hippies, free love, “make love, not war,” acid trips, the Jesus movement, sit-ins, etc.; some of us were right in the middle of it. “Yeah, yeah, that was then, this is now. What does that have to do with anything, especially what is going down in America today?” Just everything.

Let me make this short, sweet and to the point for you. This is what happened; yesterday, after the last “toke on the doobie,” the last acid trip and the “Jesus freaks” off in church somewhere, we all started down the road to today.

All you hard-working nine-to-fivers, small and large business owners, corporate staff, factory owners and workers, what did you do? Let me guess – in pursuit of the American dream, you finished school and/or joined the service or went to work or into business. You knew that while there might be a free-love scene (maybe even participated. I mean, it was free, right?), you knew there was no free lunch, and so you hung up your “tie dyes” and went out and hit it.

You had learned from Mom and Pop, Grand-père or friends and relations that, despite the long hair’s rhetoric, there was no free lunch (“You don’t work, you don’t eat”) and besides, “This is still America, the sky is the limit!” So you graduated, grabbed a briefcase or a lunch pail, punched the time clock and got with the program.

Oh yeah, what about the long haired, anti-American, sit-in types? Wonder what happened to them? After all, they weren’t into all this “work hard, succeed and make dreams come true in the land of opportunity” jazz. Well, guess what? They really did believe “your” America was faulty and needed to be changed. None of this “nine-to-five working stiff” jazz for them; they were determined, committed to changing the system. So, while you went into the market place, they went into academia and the media. While you were at work attempting to make life better and provide college for your kids, they became the teachers and professors in those self-same colleges you were struggling to put your kids through. (Lest some forget, all Ivy League colleges like Yale, Harvard, Princeton, etc., were founded as schools dedicated to educations based on biblical, not religious but transcendent, principles.)

Would you like to hazard a guess as to what many colleges/universities are teaching your kids today? While the president of Fordham University “scolded” a campus group for inviting Ann Coulter (whom they subsequently uninvited) to address the students, Bill Ayers (yes, that Bill Ayers) was warmly welcomed by the staff of an Oregon university campus.

This new “progressivism” (nee liberalism) isn’t really all that new. President Woodrow Wilson is reported to have said the purpose of modern education was “to make men as unlike their fathers as possible.” By the way, did you happen to notice the Democratic National Convention video which proclaimed, “Government is the one thing we all belong to”? Truth is, it is the other way around: Government belongs to us, not us to the government.

Here is what another individual had to say about the state:

“When there is state, there can be no freedom, but when there is freedom, there will be no state.” (Lenin)

Early feminist Charlotte Perkins Gilman wanted the state to destroy “the unchecked tyranny … of the private home.”

It is interesting to discover that colleges (and the media) are subtly (or not so subtly) indoctrinating your kids with a different worldview. You know, the one that says America is all wrong; that rich isn’t right (unless you are a movie star, rock star or you are endowing leftist college funds); the other rich folks, the “stinking capitalists” (the ones that worked for it) should take care of the less fortunate – you know, the unmarried “baby mamas” and their “baby daddies” (new correct terminology for unmarried women who get knocked up by men they aren’t married to – neither of whom is working, by the way).

A professor at the University of Rochester, in an article widely read by many college students, has argued that Romney’s success in life is based not on hard work, sacrifice and opportunities available to all, but on “privilege” – “white privilege” – and here you thought it was about study, preparation, hard work and commitment.

Of course, you must understand you can’t expect today’s “free thinkers” to work in some unfulfilling job at a measly minimum wage for some “capitalist pig” or learn some demeaning blue-collar skills. Anyway, “Society owes me, the government has all that money, let the fat cats pay a little more. Besides, if the government (you) had paid for my birth control pills, or abortion (you prudes), I wouldn’t be in this mess. It’s all your fault.”

Wonder where this sort of thinking came from? Perhaps these interesting quotes by Vladimir Lenin may give us some additional insight:

Give us the child for 8 years and it will be a Bolshevik forever.

“Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.”
So, as they say south of the border, and now in many Western states, “Que paso?”

That’s what happened. Both of you – husbands and wives – were so busy making a living you had to turn your children’s education and your media over to the “professionals.” From local school boards to the PTA to university faculties, the “pros” took over.

When they took God out of the classroom, we submitted to their wisdom. As they transformed our basic “old fashioned” (American) values into thinly disguised “modern” (socialist/communist) principles, we were too busy watching the “news” and/or Archie Bunker (our favorite replacement for “Father Knows Best”) to notice.

Instead of telling us who we are, they have focused on telling us who we are not. Emphasis was/is on what we do not have, instead of what we do have.

Guess what? If you (and I) don’t step up and begin to take back our “old-fashioned” America and we end up like most of the “new modern” European Common Market countries, guess whose fault that will be.

Budget to Further Reduce U.S. Military Edge

Red Flag Over The Atlantic
China is angling to take over a U.S. airbase in the Azores.
--Gordon G. Chang

With the threat of sequestration looming, could the loss of a strategic airbase in the northern Atlantic damage the U.S.'s ability to both defend itself and our allies, and remain a superpower?

...Pentagon budget cutters, according to some observers, are planning to make Lajes a “ghost base.”

At one time, the facility was critically important. During World War II, the airfield was instrumental in hunting U-boats, and in the Cold War the base helped the West track the Soviets. Lajes was a busy transit point in the Gulf War. It was one of the spots where the Space Shuttle could have landed in an emergency.

Now Lajes is home to the USAF’s 65th Air Base Wing, which supports American and NATO aircraft transiting the Atlantic, and it hosts various other American military units. Its role, nonetheless, is greatly diminished. Peace in the North Atlantic and advances in air-to-air refueling have decreased the importance of the strategic runway, which is now rarely used by the U.S.

So from a purely military point of view, the decision to cease operations at Lajes makes sense. The effective closure of the field, however, would send Terceira into a tailspin. While agriculture forms the basis of the island’s economy, the base directly accounts for about one in 20 jobs there.

Unemployment is already high, about 10 percent. If Terceira is to have any future, the Portuguese government will have to find a new major tenant for Air Base No. 4.

So what's the big deal? Portugal just get's another tenant? The island doesn't suffer.

Unfortunately, that tenant could likely end up being China.

Terceira, however, has one big attraction for Beijing: Air Base No. 4. Better known as Lajes Field, the facility where Premier Wen’s 747 landed in June is jointly operated by the U.S. Air Force and its Portuguese counterpart. If China controlled the base, the Atlantic would no longer be secure. From the 10,865-foot runway on the northeast edge of the island, Chinese planes could patrol the northern and central portions of the Atlantic and thereby cut air and sea traffic between the U.S. and Europe. Beijing would also be able to deny access to the nearby Mediterranean Sea.

And China could target the American homeland. Lajes is less than 2,300 miles from New York, shorter than the distance between Pearl Harbor and Los Angeles.

On a personal note, I spent  a year on Terceira. It's beautiful... dormant volcano at the center; a volcanic attraction called the Calheta dos Biscoitos to the island's north; black basalt rock everywhere, especially shoring up the terraced agricultural fields. I had lot of fun on that island.

The island is only 240 square miles (roughly 18 miles long and 11 miles wide)... lush vegetation, and hedgehogs. I remember seeing hedgehogs up in the forested hills across from where I lived. If you have the time here's the island on Google Maps.

In a Nation Grown Indifferent Toward God

Franklin Graham:
'We Have Turned Our Backs on God'

Thursday, 15 Nov 2012
By Todd Beamon and Kathleen Walter

The Rev. Franklin Graham charged in an exclusive Newsmax TV interview that America is in a deep economic quagmire because “we have turned our backs on God.”

“The more we turn our backs on God, the bigger our problem becomes,” Graham, the son of world-renowned evangelist Billy Graham, tells Newsmax in a wide-ranging interview. “I didn’t hear any of the candidates say that we needed to call our nation to prayer. I didn’t hear any of the candidates say that we needed to ask God for help.

“We still think that we can work our way out of this problem – and I don’t think we can,” Graham added. “I don’t have confidence in the Republican Party right now, and I don’t have confidence in the Democratic Party.

“I don’t believe there is leadership in Washington that can solve this problem. We just deal with it as issues for the day, and it kicks the can further and further down the road. We need God’s help to solve this problem – we can’t go without God.”

Last week’s election results, which sent President Barack Obama back to the White House for another four years, put the nation further along a “path of destruction,” Graham said.

“There is no question that America has been a nation that has been blessed by almighty God. There is no other nation in the history of mankind that has done what his nation has done – and it’s because of God’s hand and his blessing.

“In the last four years, we have begun to turn our backs on God,” Graham reiterated. “We have taken God out of our education system. We have taken him out of government. You have lawyers that sue you every time you mention the name of Jesus Christ in any public forum.

“What has happened is we have allowed ourselves to take God out everything that we do – and I believe that God will judge our nation one day.”

And, “maybe God will have to bring our nation to our knees – to where that we just have a complete economic collapse” to do that, Graham said. “Maybe at that point, people will again call upon the name of almighty God.”

Unintended Consequences of Bad Ideas

Florida Denny's, Dairy Queens, Putting
'Obamacare Surcharge' on Bill

Thursday, 15 Nov 2012
Bill Hoffman

Financial fallout from Obamacare will spur dozens of eateries in South Florida to tack a five-percent surcharge onto all meals, one restaurant mogul says.

John Metz — who runs 40 Denny's and Dairy Queens and owns the Hurricane Grill & Wings franchise — says his business will be hit hard by the January 2014 start of President Barack Obama’s healthcare mandate.

And his only alternative is, “I’ve got to pass on the cost to the customer,’’ he told the Huffington Post.

When patrons see they have to cough up a five-percent surcharge, one possibility is they could end up reducing the amount of the tip they leave for their server.

In addition, Metz will reduce the hours of his employees.

“I think it's a terrible thing. It's ridiculous that the maximum hours we can give people is 28 hours a week instead of 40,’’ the West Palm Beach businessman said. “It's going to force my employees to go out and get a second job.'’

Metz plans to hold meetings at his restaurants next month to tell his staffers of the upcoming changes.

Obamacare will make businesses or franchises with more than 50 workers to offer a government-approved insurance plan.

Either that or they will have to pay a penalty of $2,000 for each full-time worker in businesses with more than 30 workers.

Other restaurant chains including Papa John's, Olive Garden and Red Lobsters have already announced that they will have to reduce employees’ hours.

Despite the potential turmoil to Americans’ wallets, a recent poll for Kaiser Health Tracking found 43 percent Americans had a favorable opinion of Obamacare as opposed to 39 percent against it.

The decision to tack on an Obamacare surcharge has caused plenty of reaction on Twitter, such as MPH Unlimited, who wrote: "Denny's to feature new 'Obabam Slam', you order one meal but you have to pay for every Taker currently waiting in the restaurant."

Only 43% of Americans have a favorable view of Obamacare. Just a few months ago some 63% of Americans wanted the law repealed and replaced with something more sensible. But 43% is hardly a majority, and of that number how many would rather see the law rebuilt altogether?

Here's the problem. Government hacks on both sides of the political fence routinely write and manage to pass bills that sound good on paper but strike a cacophony of discordant notes in implementation like, as detailed above:

  • Surcharges for services
  • Redefinition of 'full-time' work hours

Don't believe for a moment that additional surcharges at restaurants will be the only unintended consequence of the implementation Obamacare. The cost of everything is going to go up (I'd add "at least for a time," but the truth is, 'for a time' simply means 'that space between implementation and the moment when everyone gets used to the 'New Normal''), and stay up for the foreseeable future.

Making this even harder is the unintended consequence of the redefinition of 'full-time' hours. With everything costing more, people will soon have less money to throw around, unless they take on second-- and even third -- jobs to make ends meet. Law makers will likely then see the need to raise the minimum wage, which will in turn create even more problems.

In short, Americans are going to have to learn to live with less. And they'll learn to grow bitter about it. People almost always grow bitter over long periods of drought; especially of the financial and personal liberty variety. And their bitterness will inevitably be misdirected toward those people and enterprises who are themselves victims of Obamacares' unintended consequences.

In order to save themselves financially, many businesses will cut back on the number of employees they employ or raise their price point to cover the added cost of Obamacare, as well as cut everyone's hours, forcing most people to jump onto the 'government health plan' rolls... which was government's intention all along... to create more government dependents, thereby bolstering the rolls of the ne underclass-- the new Slavery.

Universal health care is not a bad idea.

Let me say that again. Universal health care is not a bad idea. The bad ideas are all in the implementation. Force enough people onto the government roll and more than a few private insurance outlets will shrivel up and clatter down the road like so many dead leaves in winter. Meanwhile, none of our congressmen or senators will have to be burdened with the hassles of government run healthcare-- of Obamacare --or the indignities it will foist on everyone else who can't afford a private insurance plan.

Where We're at, or Going... now... right this minute

In October of 2009 I posted the following article: A Second American Civil War? Liberal commenters complained about its length and supposed "false-logic chains". There was nothing false about the logic, merely disagreement with said logic. The point then was to illustrate that we are all puppets to government and media, more specifically to politicians and ideologues within mainstream media (it should go without saying that politicians are likewise, by and large, ideologues). Will there be another civil war? Not likely, we as a nation are too cowed by promise of cradle to grave care. We have, most of us at least, returned to the plantation.

September of last year, 2011, I posted another "Questions to Consider" entry. The main thrust of the post? What happens when 50% or more of Americans are getting a handout of some sort from the government? The answer? President Obama's victory last night.

To quote Rush Limbaugh today,

"One of the greatest misunderstandings in this country, if you boil all this down, is what creates prosperity. The Romney campaign was essentially about that, and the Romney campaign was devoted to the traditional American view and history -- vision, as well -- of what creates prosperity. The old capitalism, the old arguments of hard work, stick-to-itiveness, self-reliance, charity, helping out in the community.

"All of these things that define the traditional institutions that made this country great, that's what the Romney campaign was about. It was rejected. That way, or that route to prosperity was sneered at. That route to prosperity was rejected. The people who voted for Obama don't believe in it. They don't think it's possible. They think the game's rigged. They think the deck is stacked against them.

"They think that the only way they're gonna have a chance for anything is if somebody comes along and takes from somebody else and gives it to them. Santa Claus! And it's hard to beat Santa Claus."
I firmly believe America is lost, though not for anything Rush said today. I've talked about that in the past, and I'll remind you in posts to come, but for now, we have, as I stated in my 'Questions to Consider' from last year,

"A permanent underclass dependent upon government handouts and a permanent party power-structure in Washington... "
I wish to God that this weren't true. But I don't have the same level of faith in human nature as my liberal friends-- I know what's in me.

Despite my anger last night, and before closing my eyes, I thanked God for answering my prayer.

More on that later, as well.

What I Don't Understand

What I don't understand is why so many otherwise intelligent American citizens don't get a simple concept:

People who earn over $250,000 a year are the business owners; the ones that create the jobs. If taxes are raised on these business owners/job creators, they will not continue to offer their goods and services at the same prices. They will not accept losses in their bottom line, no matter how patriotic they are! And, that bottom line is profit

There are only two ways a business can recoup the loss of profit due to higher taxes

1. They will raise the prices on their goods and services. They will have to to keep their profit margin at the same levels as before the higher taxes were levied upon them.

Do you think they will give themselves a cut in pay? Dream on, little Liberal.

And, when they raise the prices on their goods and services, the consumer will not buy those goods or services as readily as they would have if the prices were still low, thus, making it necessary for the business owner to raise the prices yet again to compensate for the loss of sales. This cycle  will continue on and on and on until the business goes bankrupt and/or out of business, or,

2. The business owner will begin to lay off employees because he can no longer afford to pay them. If that happens, there are less people employed and, consequently,  less people who can afford the higher prices started because the business owner had to pay ever increasing higher taxes. This will undoubtedly happen to enough business owners that it will have a lasting impact on each and everyone of us, the taxpaying public.

In the end, due to ever increasing taxes, higher and higher prices on goods and services, and more people on the unemployment rolls, the Government is all that is left to provide for the people.

Now, here's a question for all you big Government loving Liberals:

How does the Government provide for the ever increasing number of newly unemployed and newly impoverished citizens? Where do they get the funds?

Naturally, by increasing taxes on the rich again, which merely exacerbates the problem the Government was trying to solve in the first place.

Then, what do we have? Government trying to stretch all the revenue generated by less and less taxes collected from the few businesses fortunate enough to still be in business despite such a heavy burden of taxes and redistributed to take care of the hundreds of thousands, possibly millions, that the Government itself put out of work.

It will mean breadlines every bit as long as those that afflicted the Soviet Union in the mid 20th century.

Do you understand, Liberals? If you do, will you be so anxious to vote for a tax and spend Liberal again?

Sadly, I still don't think you get it yet.

That's what I don't understand.

OBAMA WINS

America,
The Constitution,
Freedom/Personal Liberty,
AMERICA...

LOSES!

Assuming Obama proves to be the same ideologue he's shown himself to be throughout his first term.

The man has lied about Libya. He's lied about "Fast and Furious". He lied about cutting the deficit in half-- doubling it in fact. He's increased the amount of food stamp recipients by some 15-plus million. He has failed on so many fronts, and he's managed to keep the top job in this country, and managing it with the complicit help of a wholly corrupt main-stream media.

His policies-- unless, now that he'll never run for office again, he moderates his positions on a number of things --will utterly bankrupt this nation. But America didn't care enough to apply the brakes, to see the fiscal cliff looming large on the horizon. He doesn't care about the middle class; EVERYONE's taxes are going up, despite his lie to the contrary. But, again, he doesn't care. And America should have known better.

To say I am deeply disappointed would be an understatement. Echoing somewhat the first lady from four years ago, for the first time in my adult life I am ashamed of my country.

I am ashamed that more people than not would wish this man another four years. Truly, America is lost. This isn't something we can recover from four years from now. By 2016 Obama will have kept the only promise he intended to keep when he ran for the White House in '08: He will have succeeded in fundamentally changing this once great nation.

Some conditions, like the economy, will get stronger-- I must have some hope --but the American psyche is changed forever, but that's not his fault... it's ours.

I believe Michael Savage said it best, "liberalism is a mental disorder." I mean, it really takes a messed up ideology to see nothing wrong with abortion, and ever-growing ranks of people on public assistance; there is no stigma now on accepting a handout-- Government, in fact, encourages us to accept them. There is now no incentive to pick yourself up by your own bootstraps; entrepreneurship in America is going to dry up fast. Who will want to work eighty-hours a week to build a business when men like our president and senator Elizabeth Warren say "you didn't build that"? Who will want to work eighty-hours a week to become successful when Obama and liberals will require you to pay more of your blood, sweat and tears, so the government can support freeloaders-- defined as: those who could do well for themselves, but see no need to do so since government will provide for them.

I am myself in the beginning stages of building a business; one I would like to see become hugely successful, and it galls me to think that there are those which will shrug off the sacrifices I'll have to make in order to be successful in this brave new world, believing it's my responsibility to support, with all my hard earned success, those who won't even try to support themselves, let alone strive for success, or anything for that matter.

There is something seriously wrong with Liberalism when its mendicants [and yes, I know what the word means] applaud Bill Clinton who, a couple of days ago, told a crowd of walking brain-dead, paraphrasing, 'You don't want a president that'll lie to your face!" --This from a president who lied to our faces on national television. They excused Clinton for lying, but they sought to hang Bush out to dry with the meme, 'Bush lied, people died.' Years later trotting out a genuine liar in chief (who lied about having 'sex with that woman, Miss Lewinski,') to tell their supporters to not vote for a man who will lie to their face. Liberalism routinely crucifies conservatives for doing the very things liberals engage in... routinely. And it's mendicants slavishly nod their heads and cheer, conveniently forgetting and excusing their own of the very same sins. Only this time around it was the Obama campaign dealing and spinning lies throughout from start to finish.

I have to agree with Miss Coulter who describes liberalism, and those who have sold their souls to it, as Demonic. There is something foul, and stomach turning, to liberalism... something fundamentally evil about it. Don McLean sang about the day the music died. It's up to someone now to sing about the day America died.

America's descent is now complete.

Why, Mr./ Obama? Why?

Free Web Page Hit Counter

I have not been posting blog entries for quite some time now, and that is because I've been posting my thoughts on Facebook. This morning, I posted the following comment on Facebook, and I thought I'd share it with those who don't follow me on Facebook. Besides, we need to get the word out in all forms of media we have available to us:

I know I promised my wife and my Facebook friends that I would try to be less political, but now, in the last few days before the general election, it is becoming more and more important (for me, at least) to get the word out on what we may expect should Obama be re-elected. Many "experts" are predicting a Romney win next week, but I can't be that sure. Because the main news networks, CBS, NBC, and ABC are not forthcoming on the essential facts surrounding the tragedy in Benghazi, Libya on Sept 11, of this year, I feel it's imperative that I do my part to educate those who would rather not know these "unpleasant facts", be they Democrat or Republican. It is a sad fact that some registered voters, regardless of party affiliation, would just rather let the politicians fight it out among themselves and let the chips fall where they may.

I can't do that

People need to know, and they need to ask questions. Questions like, Why did our President refuse to help the besieged in Benghazi? We now know he was aware of the ongoing 7+ hour conflict in real time, and we know he was asked at least three times to send help, probably in time to rescue Ambassador Stevens and the others, but he refused.

I have to ask why. And, as freedom loving American citizens, all of us need to ask the same question.

Why did he stand down and do nothing to help our people in Libya?

I've heard the opinions of those who oppose him, and I've also heard the explanation from those who were privy to the decision, and none of them make sense to me.

Republicans say he did it to improve his chances to win re-election. But, in what universe would refusing to save dying American citizens help win an election?

Democrats say they didn't send in help because they weren't sure what exactly was going on and didn't want to act until they were. That explanation sounds plausible. Yes, it sounds plausible --- until we learn that later reports reveal they (Obama included) knew exactly what was going on while it was happening.

Here's something else that should make an Obama supporter ask questions:

Why did Obama blame an obscure Youtube video for the attacks in Libya when it is now clear that he knew all along the video had nothing to do with it? If I was an Obama supporter, that one fact alone would make me wonder if 4 more years of Obama would be worth the risk of voting for him again.

Why, Mr./ Obama? Why?
