It’s your fault! Yes, yours! Don’t look around, look in the mirror.
It’s your fault, you hard-working nine-to-fivers, small business owners,
corporate staffs, factory owners and workers. You are to blame
for the current state of affairs in America, for the liberal (now
“progressive”) oriented 49 percenters who voted Obama in for another
four years. You are to blame.
Yeah, I know some of you are asking (some a little less polite but just as hot), “How in blazes can you say this is my fault? I worked my tail off to get where I am, and I don’t care what Obama says, I did build it!” Yes you did, and that’s the problem.
Let’s set the “way back” machine to the “revolution” of the ’60s.
Remember? Hippies, free love, “make love, not war,” acid trips, the
Jesus movement, sit-ins, etc.; some of us were right in the middle of
it. “Yeah, yeah, that was then, this is now. What does that have to do
with anything, especially what is going down in America today?” Just
everything.
Let me make this short, sweet and to the point for you. This is what
happened; yesterday, after the last “toke on the doobie,” the last acid
trip and the “Jesus freaks” off in church somewhere, we all started down
the road to today.
All you hard-working nine-to-fivers, small and large business owners, corporate staff, factory owners and workers, what did
you do? Let me guess – in pursuit of the American dream, you finished
school and/or joined the service or went to work or into business. You
knew that while there might be a free-love scene (maybe even
participated. I mean, it was free, right?), you knew there was no free
lunch, and so you hung up your “tie dyes” and went out and hit it.
You had learned from Mom and Pop, Grand-père or friends and relations
that, despite the long hair’s rhetoric, there was no free lunch (“You
don’t work, you don’t eat”) and besides, “This is still America, the sky
is the limit!” So you graduated, grabbed a briefcase or a lunch pail,
punched the time clock and got with the program.
Oh yeah, what about the long haired, anti-American, sit-in types?
Wonder what happened to them? After all, they weren’t into all this
“work hard, succeed and make dreams come true in the land of
opportunity” jazz. Well, guess what? They really did believe “your”
America was faulty and needed to be changed. None of this “nine-to-five
working stiff” jazz for them; they were determined, committed to
changing the system. So, while you went into the market place, they
went into academia and the media. While you were at work attempting to
make life better and provide college for your kids, they became the
teachers and professors in those self-same colleges you were struggling
to put your kids through. (Lest some forget, all Ivy League colleges
like Yale, Harvard, Princeton, etc., were founded as schools dedicated
to educations based on biblical, not religious but transcendent, principles.)
Would you like to hazard a guess as to what many
colleges/universities are teaching your kids today? While the president
of Fordham University “scolded” a campus group for inviting Ann Coulter
(whom they subsequently uninvited) to address the students, Bill Ayers
(yes, that Bill Ayers) was warmly welcomed by the staff of an Oregon university campus.
This new “progressivism” (nee liberalism) isn’t really all that new.
President Woodrow Wilson is reported to have said the purpose of modern
education was “to make men as unlike their fathers as possible.” By the
way, did you happen to notice the Democratic National Convention video
which proclaimed, “Government is the one thing we all belong to”? Truth
is, it is the other way around: Government belongs to us, not us to the government.
Here is what another individual had to say about the state:
“When there is state, there can be no freedom, but when there is freedom, there will be no state.” (Lenin)
Early feminist Charlotte Perkins Gilman wanted the state to destroy “the unchecked tyranny … of the private home.”
It is interesting to discover that colleges (and the media) are
subtly (or not so subtly) indoctrinating your kids with a different
worldview. You know, the one that says America is all wrong; that rich
isn’t right (unless you are a movie star, rock star or you are endowing
leftist college funds); the other rich folks, the “stinking
capitalists” (the ones that worked for it) should take care of the less
fortunate – you know, the unmarried “baby mamas” and their “baby
daddies” (new correct terminology for unmarried women who get knocked up
by men they aren’t married to – neither of whom is working, by the
way).
A professor at the University of Rochester, in an article widely read
by many college students, has argued that Romney’s success in life is
based not on hard work, sacrifice and opportunities available to all,
but on “privilege” – “white privilege” – and here you thought it was
about study, preparation, hard work and commitment.
Of course, you must understand you can’t expect today’s “free
thinkers” to work in some unfulfilling job at a measly minimum wage for
some “capitalist pig” or learn some demeaning blue-collar skills.
Anyway, “Society owes me, the government has all that money, let the fat
cats pay a little more. Besides, if the government (you) had paid for
my birth control pills, or abortion (you prudes), I wouldn’t be in this
mess. It’s all your fault.”
Wonder where this sort of thinking came from? Perhaps these
interesting quotes by Vladimir Lenin may give us some additional
insight:
“Give us the child for 8 years and it will be a Bolshevik forever.”
“Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.”
So, as they say south of the border, and now in many Western states, “Que paso?”
That’s what happened. Both of you – husbands and wives – were so busy
making a living you had to turn your children’s education and your
media over to the “professionals.” From local school boards to the PTA
to university faculties, the “pros” took over.
When they took God out of the classroom, we submitted to their wisdom.
As they transformed our basic “old fashioned” (American) values into
thinly disguised “modern” (socialist/communist) principles, we were too
busy watching the “news” and/or Archie Bunker (our favorite replacement
for “Father Knows Best”) to notice.
Instead of telling us who we are, they have focused on telling us who we are not. Emphasis was/is on what we do not have, instead of what we do have.
Guess what? If you (and I) don’t step up and begin to take back our
“old-fashioned” America and we end up like most of the “new modern”
European Common Market countries, guess whose fault that will be.
What did the Kmer Rouge do when they swept through Cambodia? They killed all the teachers. More specifically, they murdered everyone with even a modicum, or the "appearance" of an education.
ReplyDeleteToday's left (as in what passes for academia today) has accomplished the very same thing; albeit, without all the bloodshed, and mountains of skulls and rotting corpses. They have instead murdered the minds (the critical thinking skills) of entire generations of Americans.
What's happened-- and is continuing to happen today --to America IS our fault
