Yeah, That's What I said

I found this on Jim O'Sullivan's blog, which is basically the same thing I said in a previous blog post. Curiously, my post received few comments in response. Except, while I focused on only the racial divide, authors Patrick H. Caddell and Douglas E. Schoen added class and partisanship to the list of divisive issues Obama is using to divide our country.

  1. You know what? Just re-reading my blog post and comparing it with these professionals, I think mine is at least as good. Perhaps I'm too full of myself, but that's how i feel.

  2. It is the true and actual naked attempt to enable the Cloward-Piven Strategy. I have been convinced of this for almost a year now.

Tear it down. Tear it all down. Only then may you rebuild in the mirror image of true Socialism.

  3. Because some here have claimed to enjoy it at least a little, here are the Trabues singing "Jerusalem" (Steve Earle's) at church yesterday, along with our dear son, Jordan, playing mandolin for us!

  4. Beautiful, Dan... though it seems to have been removed. One criticism, however... too many photos, not enough of you and your family.

  5. The video was not of very good quality - too shaky. Thanks, Eric.

I'm not sure what's going on with blogger. I've had a couple of comments just disappear like that, even on my own blog. I wasn't even sure if it posted here, but it sounds like it did, at least briefly.

    Thanks again.

  6. You're not a mandolin player, are you Eric?

  7. I owned and tinkered with one some twenty five years ago. Acquiring another one is on my list of instruments to buy.

A 12-string is next, followed by a bass. THEN, assuming the world hasn't gone to crap, I'll think about another mandolin

  8. No, get the mandolin first. It's so much fun!

Bass, as in electric, acoustic or upright? I really dig upright basses, but they're so HUGE.

  9. I'm saving my pennies for a Hofner violin bass. They're only about 350$... Electric. Upright basses are cool but... they take up too much room and cost waaaay too much money.

  10. Here's one that's about our age, used, so it ought to be nice and cheap, right?

If you're going electric, the hofner looks like a cool choice to me.

I rather like this one, has a groovy jazz feel happening...

  11. Hey! I'm a bass player, too. I have a Fender Music Master short scale with upgraded pickups. Short scale makes it easy for me to sing while playing and I sang lead and harmonies in my more active days. Now it's just bass in the worship leaders at church.

  12. We'll have to do one of those online band recordings...

  13. I played bass in a garage band some thirty years ago, but guitar has always been my focus. I'm looking to pick it [bass] back up and see if I can still beat it like I used to.
