Political Correctness Will Get Us All Killed

"Lord, what fools these mortals be!" ~ William Shakespeare.

Here is something I was going to post an an entry about, but didn't get around to it, and now it's too late, but I'll post anyway, because the motive is still questionable:

The guy in the video who was seen near Times Square removing his sweat shirt minutes after (before?) the SUV was found with all the explosive devices aboard. look at this:

Why was he considered a suspect?

I've tried to understand what it is about a man removing a sweatshirt and placing it into the bag he is carrying that arouses suspicion, but I can't.

Now, if he just threw the sweatshirt away and walked on, possibly there might be reason to question that action.

But, If I am walking, and I get hot, and I remove my outer shirt or jacket, I will hold onto it, and If I am carrying a bag of some type, I would likely place the shirt in there.

I think I have an idea why this one man, out of all the other passers-by, was singled out as a possible suspect.

He is white, and apparently forty-ish.

Which is, in itself, in this politically correct, all inclusive, topsy-turvy world, a world created by journalists, a particularly dangerous combination.

The media would like nothing more than to find a typical white man to suspect of terrorist intentions, and if he happens to be a Conservative tea partier, all the better.

Forget the fact that, with few exceptions, terrorists are young brown-skinned middle eastern Muslim men. The exceptions are white men who have converted to Islam. But, they are still young. Not forty-ish.

So, while police possibly wasted many man-hours researching this man who had the misfortune to take his sweatshirt off at the wrong place and the wrong time, the real suspect was preparing to escape to Dubai.

And guess what? The real suspect is a young, brown skinned, middle eastern Muslim male.

Go figure.

It is only a matter of time before these Liberal, blame America first, terrorist loving, love-everybody-regardless-of-how-evil-they-are-except-innocent-God-fearing-Americans, so-called journalists will distract law enforcement officers long enough to let a real terrorist kill hundreds of people.

It's not a question of "if" it happens. It is only a question of "when and where" it will happen.

OK. That's my opinion. Anyone have a better explanation for suspecting this man?

    Not in the US.

You get the idea. In the US in the last twenty years, terrorists tend overwhelmingly to be white men. Let's not wrongly play the Muslim Middle Eastern card.

  2. Let's neither turn a blind eye to the obvious threat of Muslim Extremists.

Muslim Extremists are an OBVIOUS threat.

The less obvious tend to be 'less obvious' because they DO blend in to the traditional view of American society. What is it the neighbors always say?

"He was such a nice boy... polite. No one ever would have thought he'd blow up buildings"

Because of the rise in Muslim extremism... i.e., terrorism, across the globe, Muslims therefore (right or wrong) have become obvious suspects. Furthermore, it has been demonstrated that just because they blend in and seem such normal happy families doesn't mean they aren't building bombs in the basement. Remember, Mohammad gave his followers permission to lie, if they must, to fulfill the will of Allah. Christians, on the contrary, are commanded to be truthful to ALL men. And since Christianity still informs the natural American thought process, we have trouble suspecting people who say to our faces, we are normal just like you.

We want to believe the Muslims in our neighborhoods don't build bombs in their basements. And for the most part this is probably quite true. But you will find, I believe, far fewer whites or blacks or Hispanics plotting or building bombs in their basements than you would Muslims.

Dan, you are correct. Terrorism has been perpetrated by whites as well. But political correctness, I believe, drives you and many many others to overlook the obvious threats because you don't want to be seen as being intolerant.

It's commendable to want to avoid being seen as discriminant toward cultures different than our own, but it can also be dangerous. We should be more like Reagan in that we should 'trust, but verify' the intents of our neighbors.

We do not yet live in a perfect world. And until we do, it is only prudent that we watch, and be wary, and reserve absolute trust only to those who both earn it and deserve it.

This incident in Times Square only proves that just because a Muslim family lives next door and your kid play with theirs, doesn't mean the family is trustworthy. You wouldn't even give that consideration to a white family next door. I don't know what my neighbors do behind closed doors, how can I then say they are entirely trustworthy? I can't. And because I can't entirely trust my white and black neighbors, I will not extend greater trust to Muslim neighbors just because they are Muslim and I want to avoid the appearance of discrimination against them.

  3. Also, consider how the media played this video... specifically the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. She has some Gomer on the other day saying, and I paraphrase, 'we don't know who or what this guy is. He could just be someone who is angry about Obamacare...' These brain-dead (and hypocritical) talking heads on the Left will leap at any chance to besmirch the Right, what with all their talk about "the violence that'll come from the Tea Party movement," all the while ignoring all the Left Wing Violence coming out of the Arizona Illegal Immigrant protester, who are smashing store-front windows and vandalizing private and public property.

The media wants to point to non-existent or potential right wing violence, all the while completely ignoring blatant existent Left Wing violence.

Is it any wonder the Main Stream Media is the laughing stock of the free press? Is it any wonder their ratings are in the toilet?

It was the NYPD and the FBI who first announced the man in the video as a suspect. Should they have seen the video and seeing the man was white said "oh. no. it can't be him. keep looking."

It's comforting when stereotypes turn out to be true. It gives the little bigot in our heads a happy glow. What if Faisal Shahzad decided to set off a bomb in Times Square because he had recently seen Avenue Q and felt he was ripped-off? Then does it matter if he's middle eastern or Jamaican or from Arkansas?

Of course not you blithering nincompoop! The media personalities have to fill 24 hours of air and so they speculate without reason. They're just as much nincompoops as you when they do that. We will in the fullness of time learn if Faisal Shahzad decided to set off a bomb in Times Square alone or with others, for some or none reasons.

Everyone speculating without facts is a dimwit!

  6. A "dimwit"?

I'll have you know that speculating without facts is our national pasttime in the US! So be careful when you denigrate the US way, there, young Ben.

  7. Calm down, Ben. Be still. Surprisingly enough, I agree with you. The New York City police shouldn't have released the video in the first place, then nincompoops like Katie Couric wouldn't have embarrassed themselves.

Now. Do you have a point?
