Regarding the video, I'll have to view it a few times. One point I have to protest is the call for term limits. Term limits is laziness. There's no way I would want a good servant of the people to be forced to step down if he would prefer to keep serving. WE THE PEOPLE are the only term limits we should need, by voting out the bums and voting in good people. Term limits removes responsibility from where it belongs, that being in each of us.
ReplyDeleteWhile I agree that Congress should not be able to vote for their own pay increases, I am a bit torn as to how we honor them for their service after they are gone. After all, some of them do give up more lucrative private sector gigs to serve. That should be worth something, even if it's less than full pay for the rest of their lives. But the idea that they'd respond better by having to deal with SS and health care the same way the rest of us do makes total sense. Certainly non-elected gov't workers should be dealing with these things in the same way, if they aren't already.
