I read the opinion piece on "The War on Christianity"
at no point does it mention Pres. Barack Obama. Doesn't reference him or the Democrat party or even vague allusions to "liberals". What it does speak to is the societal changes that are against evangelical christians. And the fact that you self aggrandize a decline of evangelicalism as a War on the entirety of Christianity and religious belief itself is . . . unsurprising.
Perhaps you should actually read the article and think about some of the things the author said.
"the billions of dollars we've spent on youth ministers, Christian music, publishing, and media has produced a culture of young Christians who know next to nothing about their own faith except how they feel about it. Our young people have deep beliefs about the culture war, but do not know why they should obey scripture, the essentials of theology, or the experience of spiritual discipline and community. Coming generations of Christians are going to be monumentally ignorant and unprepared for culture-wide pressures. "
"Evangelicals have identified their movement with the culture war and with political conservatism. This will prove to be a very costly mistake. Evangelicals will increasingly be seen as a threat to cultural progress....The evangelical investment in moral, social, and political issues has depleted our resources and exposed our weaknesses. Being against gay marriage and being rhetorically pro-life will not make up for the fact that massive majorities of Evangelicals can't articulate the Gospel with any coherence."
Dude, don't cloud the issue with your deception, BenT.
Obama and the Democrats don't need to be metioned...it's so obvious that they both have it in for righteousness, purity, and common-sense...known as Christianity.
I would also echo the sentiment that Barry O need not be front and center in this fight, or for that matter even be involved. The point was that the WOT is not the hot topic when these other wars are raging.
I would also like to point out that the reduced evangelizing can indeed be a result of the crap that separationists have wrought, making an already difficult task that much more tricky. People of faith have been heavily marginalized for last 40 years or so. Evangelizing is an area that has suffered as a result of this.
Your First Amendment right to free speech is a privilege and comes with a measure of responsibility. You have the right to exercise that responsibility here but we reserve the right to inform you when you've used that right irresponsibly.
We are benevolent dictators in this regard. Enjoy.
