Congress: Swimming Against The Tide

"Suppose you were an idiot and suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself." ~ Mark Twain

The Congress is now in recess for the month of August, and it couldn't have come at a better time. Now, they can't say, with any credibility, they don't have time to read the health care bill. Now, they have no excuse for being ignorant.

There are two things our lawmakers can do during this time to be better prepared to vote on the national Health care legislation:

1. Hold Town Hall meetings to better understand their constituent's concerns.

2. Read the bill!

The voice of the people is being heard, and evidently, ignored.

Did you hear the black woman with the Muslim headgear say, "Health care is a right, given to us by the United Nations"?

Really? I didn't know the United Nations was God! Did you?

One would think, with between 65% and 75% of Americans vehemently opposing this legislation, that it would be a no-brainer for those lawmakers who intend to vote for the bill.

Apparently, they have no intention of being re-elected.

It would seem to be clear from the poll numbers, if they vote for the bill, they will not be in office after the next Congressional elections.

  1. My house rep. has decided not to hold any public events at all during the August recess. I guess it's his way of telling us that he will do what Nancy says and could care less about the constituents.

  2. I have NEVER been more frightened of my government than under the Obama administration. And perhaps the most frightening aspect of that admission is the fact that the Obama administration is only 6 months old.

But in contrast, I am so very proud of my fellow countrymen who are standing up to these thugs at each and every townhall meeting.

That Obama and the Democrat leadership is hellbent on slamming through Obamacare on a purely ideological basis gives me great hope that many of these folks will not see another term, especially if they choose ideology over the constitution.

They think Americans are ignorant. They're getting a huge wake-up call, and it thrills me to no end that they are ignoring the will of their constituents.

Obama is in the process of destroying any hope for another Black man to gain the White House, which is sad, because the color of one's skin should never preclude one from becoming president. Obama is himself destroying his own presidency. And that line that went around during the campaign, describing his presidency as "Carter's Second Term," is so astonishingly apropos in light of that fact that it is his own hand that is destroying his presidency. Add to this the Democrat party which is in the process of shooting itself in the head, and I'm loving every minute of it.

    Can't wait for mid-terms.

But God help us all if Obama's dream of a single payer system is made law. He has been on a mission from day one to destroy this country, and with Obamacare he may very well accomplish it.

  3. I laugh every time some shill trots out the "It's an angry mob" line. I though that organizing your community to make your voice was a good thing.

  4. I wouldn't go so far as to say that Obama will make it hard for other minorities to become president. But my hope is that color won't be an issue as it was this time, by idiots who thought electing a black man was more important than electing a smart man and a patriotic ma and a man who puts the country above his own ideology and power.
