Tea Party? Give Me a Break!

This bullshiite about the Great American Tea Party is just too much and indicates PRECISELY what is wrong with the conservative movement today! Having a lawn-party, waving signs, and TALKing won't do a danged bit of good! The brave patriots who risked life and limb to throw the East India's tea in the drink MUST be rolling over in their graves! How's about growing some 'nads, and refusing to pay TAXES...THAT would send a message to the king!

All this talk about revolution is just so much drivel. A collective "up-yours" to Obama and his brood in Congress by means of drying-up their piggy-bank would SURELY mean change!

UPDATE!!

A related story is titled, State Officials Ban Tea from Tea-Party

Liberals will stoop to any low to suppress free-speech, eh?

  1. The thing to do is impeach Obama.

He has violated the fourteenth amendment, by his overtures to Iran and Hamas, etc. He has promised to close GITMO and release terrorists hostile to the United States into our country and the countries of our allies. He has Promised to cut the military budget by 10% in a time of war. He has promised to dismantle the Patriot act.

He is a traitor and should be impeached.

And his cohorts in Congress should be recalled.

  2. Please explain WHY this is "PRECISELY [what's] wrong with the conservative movement today"

What you yourself are advocating in a nationwide refusal to pay taxes IS revolution!

  3. It's not me who introduced the word, "revolution" into the mix. It's a common theme I've noticed in posts and comments by influential bloggers and their commenters. If they are going to equate this weekend's social-gatherings with what the participants in the REAL tea-party did, then they show their own chronic impotence.

The patriots living before the American Revolution knew what they were getting into when they rebelled.

Waving signs at a barbecue ain't any form of rebellion worthy of notice.

If revolution truly is the aim, then revolt. Don't play games!

I imagine boarding East India Co.'s ships and throwing bales of tea which represented the oppression over which they were rebelling WAS against the law and would have carried heavy-penalties, wouldn't it?

If conservative (as opposed to Republicans) want to revolt against this crazy stimulus and the tax-hikes they will bring...by GOD...revolt in the same manner as the patriots in Boston!

It ain't TEA they're gonna be taxing...neither is it standing on the city-sidewalk in front of some state-capitol waving a piece of white poster-board with a message written with a Sharpie. Heck, it ain't house-parties they're gonna tax, Eric...it's your PAYCHECK!

How many you think will join the revolution?

I hope this explains why this is precisely what's wrong with the Republican Party and the conservative movement in general.

You know what I think? If they won't throw the tea in the water, they won't lock and load when it becomes necessary.

Your First Amendment right to free speech is a privilege and comes with a measure of responsibility. You have the right to exercise that responsibility here but we reserve the right to inform you when you've used that right irresponsibly.

We are benevolent dictators in this regard. Enjoy.
