The Business Of Being President

"Good design can't fix broken business models." ~ Jeffrey Veen

Barack Hussein Obama recently made a comment that made me so angry, I had to wait until now to write a commentary. Now that I've calmed down somewhat, I will comment.

I was watching a report on TV about Obama stumping for Martha Coakley in Massachusetts, when the news program played a clip of Obama announcing his plan to charge a fee to banks and institutions who are giving millions of dollars of bonuses to their executives.

I had to google it to find it, and I confess, what I found isn't exactly what I heard, but it is essentially the same thing. This is from FOX news' website,
...Obama, striking an emphatic and populist tone, said Thursday that he is determined to recoup every dollar spent from the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program to rescue Wall Street firms with a new tax on the largest banks.

"We want our money back and we're going to get it," he said.

Obama described bank bonuses as "obscene" and said the new tax would cover a projected $117 billion shortfall in the government's financial crisis bailout fund.

Upon hearing the report, I gasped in amazement.

Isn't Obama Harvard educated?

Is he not considered by Democrats to be something of a genius?

He's the (illegally) duly elected President of the United States, is he not?

Doesn't attaining the office of President of the United States imply he has at least as much intelligence as a fifth grader?

Then why doesn't he understand simple arithmetic?

Why does he not understand basic business principles?

I am not a businessman, but even I understand businesses compensate for loss of profits by raising prices on goods and services.

How does Obama's ambitious plan affect business?

Look. It's simple:

If Obama charges a fee or a tax to the corporations who pay "obscene" bonuses, the companies will simply raise their prices on goods and services. If, as he says, he only charges banks new taxes or fees, they will pass the loss in profit onto their customers in the form of higher fees and prices.

Those customers include every business that every one of us does business with on a daily basis.

Grocery stores, Department stores, Home improvement companies--name one.

Name any.

Name them all.

They all do business with banks.

And what happens if banks pass their expenses on to their customers? Well, naturally, they pass their expenses on to us.

The consumers.

They also lay off employees because they can no longer afford to pay them.

Let's see now. How does Obama's plan of charging more fees or taxes to banks create his promised hope?

How does it create change?

I hope he doesn't.

It's Change for the worse.

Good God!

Is he stupid or does he just think we are?

It Aint Over Yet

"In these matters the only certainty is that nothing is certain." ~ Pliny the Elder

Just when Harry Reid has us convinced he is a total moron, he does or says something that indicates he is diabolically clever.

Shortly after receiving the news of Republican Scott Brown's election to the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts, Reid magnanimously announced Senator-elect Brown will be seated, "as soon as the proper paperwork has been received."

Paperwork.

Aye, there's the rub.

There has been some speculation that the Senate will attempt to push the Obamacare bill through with some obscure ruling that somehow bypasses getting the approval of the House of Representatives. I'm not exactly sure what the procedure is, but that's what I've been told. That could be done quickly, before the "proper papers" can be received.

And Harry Reid knows it.

Another way (and the most obvious) Reid and Pelosi and the rest of the gang of Obama thugs can pass Obama care without allowing Brown to vote would be to delay the processing of the "proper papers" until after the vote.

We all know how long it takes the government to produce needed paperwork depending on it's importance.

There is most likely a myriad of ways Harry and the gang can sneak Obamacare into law without relying on Scott Brown's vote.

Don't count Obamacare out yet.

Don't assume the worst is over.

Don't think the Democrats have lost yet. There are likely many more aces up their sleeves.

Harry (and Obamacare) won't go down that easily.

This fight will not be won until we can vote that gang of crooks out of office.

A Flashback

"Never let a serious crisis go to waste. What I mean by that is it's an opportunity to do things you couldn't do before." ~ Rahm Emanuel

While perusing the media coverage of the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti, I had a flashback.

Does anyone remember a storm that hit New Orleans, Louisiana a couple of years ago?

In the aftermath of that storm, fingers were pointed. Blame was assigned. Remember?

It was George W. Bush's fault. It was FEMA's fault. I seem to remember Reverend (and I use the term loosely) Pat Robertson saying Hurricane Katrina was a judgment from God because of the hedonism and debauchery that runs rampant in the city. Well, he's at it again, isn't he? I wish he'd just shut up. He's giving real Christians a bad rep.

The storm changed the perspective of many people, including myself. Another blogger who I considered one of my best blogger buddies at the time was changed also.

I became less racist. He became more Liberal. Fanatically more Liberal. He is absolutely mad now.

He is married to a so-called intellectual. She is a doctor of some sort (he never enlightened his blog readers what she is a doctor of), who lectures all over the country, and also a raving Liberal.

She had her own blog. On her blog, she announced George Bush was at fault because a hospital ship was a day or two tardy getting to the port of New Orleans to aid in the rescue operations there.

Yes, I know, the connection between the two is tenuous at best, but I seem to recall her biased assessment of the situation made a sort of discombobulated sense in a Liberal, pseudo-intellectual kind of way. Somehow, it was the President's fault.

I wish I could explain her logic but it appears her blog is now non-existent, and frankly, I don't remember much of what she wrote, except that she blamed the President.

The media coverage I was referring to in the first paragraph was this. Here's a teaser for those who don't follow links:

The operating room is prepped with oxygen tanks, ventilators and a roster of blood donors. But while the USS Carl Vinson's medical facilities perhaps exceed those of any other triage center nearby, it had remained essentially unused since it arrived off the coast of Port-au-Prince early Friday

When did the Haitian earthquake strike? Wasn't it a few days before Friday?

Why is the hospital ship not helping? Is it political? Where are the incessant accusations from the left now? Why isn't anyone pointing fingers? Why is no one assigning blame? Who is at fault?

What is Obama doing?

Why aren't Liberal bloggers and the state run media blaming Obama?

Hurricane Katrina was all Bush's fault. Remember? At least that's what we were told.

The media says so. It must be true. Right?

I wonder how Rahm Emanuel and Obama and the rest of the gang can turn this latest crisis into a political advantage.

Listen: If Hurricane Katrina was George W. Bush's fault, then it stands to reason the blame for the Haitian earthquake lies squarely on Barack Hussein Obama's shoulders.

What are we going to do about that?

Merry Christmas Harry "Herod" Reid

I find it curious that the main sticking point for senator Nelson was the abortion issue. At this time of year, the holiday during which we celebrate the birth of one particularly singular baby, America found itself debating the destruction of babies... making backroom deals to get votes for a bill that hasn't even been seen in full by anyone but Harry Reid's godless minions. Who's to say abortion won't be added back into the bill during reconciliation? Will senator Nelson still vote 'yes'? If such a bill ever gets passed the Christmas Holiday season will take on new meaning as that holiday season during which politicians chose to send temple guards to Bethlehem to preserve the status quo of inhuman butchery.

Look closely at that child folks... it's black. Where's the love all you civil rights loving Democrats? Where's the love you touted just yesterday Herod Reid? Where's the Love Barack? Where's the Hope you promised ALL Americans, including and especially the Black community? Where's that Change you promised, you murderer?

But don't worry, folks. It's not a "real" baby, it's just an amorphous blob of tissue deserving of neither respect, dignity, nor value... human or otherwise.

Merry Christmas all you abortion supporting bastards, including all you who vote such into office... who force God fearing Americans to pay for your crimes.

May you all be richly blessed with all that you deserve.

-------
UPDATE:
10:40pm

Now that I've calmed down, I have more to add.

Obama calls himself a Christian, and yet he has yet to find a church, let alone attend services. He claims to be a Christian yet he takes off his shoes to take part in Muslim prayer-- what Christian is EVER expected to bow to idols? This, after he rejects participation in the Christian National Day of Prayer.

Where are his Christian priorities? Obama had planned to not celebrate Christmas at all; no trees in the White House, no presents for his girls, but all that changed after the media got wind of it.

This man is a charlatan. He is a liar, a thief and, heaven help us all, a murderer. He is a fake Christian. He has lied every step of the way in his first 11 months. He has stolen from every American the hopes and dreams they had for themselves AND their children. And as a "Christian" he continues to support and defend the evil practice of abortion.

Think about it. Some two-thousand five or six years ago, one ruler who called himself a Jew, who availed himself of everything Jewish, including Temple rites, sent soldiers to Bethlehem to murder one child. Since he couldn't know which child, he ordered all male children under two murdered. Was Herod a good Jew? He was Jewish by birth (and that's the greatest difference between Herod and Obama; NO one is BORN a Christian), but was God pleased with what Herod did?

The answer is obvious.

Why then should anyone believe Obama is Christian... that God is pleased with who and what he is? Why does Herod Reid get to invoke Christianity and the holidays to pass a healthcare bill that, despite backroom deals to insure the contrary, WILL provide for tax-payer funded abortions.

Two thousand years ago Rachel wept for her children, but no one seems to be weeping today. How many children could Bethlehem have lost in Herod's folly? 100? We're talking 50+ million since 1973. And black babies make up the majority of abortions in America. How can a man who calls himself Christian, who claims to desire equity between black and white, rich and poor, support the most heinous crime of our time; that disproportionately kills more black children than white, Latino, or Asian?

Simple answer? He couldn't. Not without escaping the wrath and just punishment of God. George Tiller didn't escape. In the end we all pay for our sin, unless the blood of Christ covers us. And for Barack Obama to be saved from his sin there must be evidence... fruit... to bear witness of his faith. Instead, he shuns Christianity, and embraces the golden calf of Islam-- paganism.

Harry "Herod" Reid? A liar, thief, murderer.
Nancy Pelosi? Liar, thief, and murderer.
Democrats who voted for this abomination of a healthcare bill? Liars, Thieves, Murderers.
Anyone who voted for these bastards (biblically speaking)? Ignorant, Reprobate, partakers in the aforementioned bastard's evil deeds, and as such, they've blood on their hands. And, surprise, surprise, this describes my OWN family.

I'm not as angry as I was earlier today, but I am still angry. Democrats puff their chests out and smugly declare that they care more about the American people than do any other political persuasion, yet they support the destruction of human life. Liberals? No better... just look at the new internet ad by Rock the Vote.

This used to be a Christian nation. But no more. Clinton and Carter at least made pretenses toward Christianity... they actually attended church, however hypocritically. But now there's a new animal in the White House, one with just as much pretense as his predecessors, but without any outward show of faith. And America gives him a pass. "What a great man of faith he is!" Sadly, America has no idea what faith is, or the personal responsibility and promise of accountability that comes with it.

This Christmas, please take the time to pray for Obama's immortal soul. Ask God to save him and his family... to change his heart as God promised would occur via the gift of salvation. Because if Obama is the type of politician America can expect from here on out, we're doomed. We may already be, but nothing is impossible with God.

So while you're enjoying your family and friends this HOLYday season, make mention of Barack when you say grace. Pray for your own family too; that God will sustain them through the dark days ahead should Obama get his way.

And finally, consider this: Will God hold ANY of us blameless when we, as taxpayers, begin paying for the wholesale destruction of human life? Think about it. Our taxes will be used to pay doctors to murder children. When Jesus told the priests to render unto Caesar the things which were Caesar's, no Jew had a right to vote Caesar into or out of office. We DO have such a right, and I'd bet every cent I'll ever make the rest of my life that God WILL hold us accountable for the votes we cast.

Take another good look at that poor black baby above. That child will one day see justice done. Please make sure you aren't counted in that number. For if you are... better that you had never been born at all.

Predicted

As this article reports, Chai Feldblum has been appointed to the EEOC and awaits Senate confirmation. Continuing with the Obama tradition of placing in our government radicals that will negatively transform our nation, Feldblum, a lesbian activist, sees the day when the religious convictions of Americans will be trumped by the perversions of the few. I am on record as predicting that when the established rights of people of faith come to clash with the invented "rights" of homosexuals, faith will lose if deviancy is codified into American law. Feldblum apparently agrees.

Feldblum has no business on the EEOC. She is too vested in the success of the homosexual agenda to be objective. She believes that "gay is good" which is to say, she is fully intent upon forcing her immorality down the throats of the entire nation. Imagine being forced to rent your house to a homosexual couple. Imagine being forced to rent your hall for the celebration of homosexuality, be it one of their faux marriages or for one of their "pride" events.

Having people like Feldblum in leadership positions of government will lead to a suppression of our rights to live out our faith in our daily lives. Our speech will be regulated against anything the homosexual feels is offensive. Our freedom of association will be squashed as we will be accused of discrimination for not hiring that homely transvestite. And the more we have people like Feldblum in the forefront of our public institutions, the more their lies and sick agenda will influence legislation and policy.

Call you senators and demand they vote against confirming Chai Feldblum. We have far too many morally challenged reprobates in government as it is.

UPDATE:
This article describes another case of Constitutionally protected rights of association clashing with the invented "rights" of the homosexual.

The Charge of the 280 Dems

--Dick Morris

Note: [posted in full, without permission... kinda like what Congress is currently doing with this nation's healthcare]

Let's first channel Alfred, Lord Tennyson from his poem "The Charge of the Light Brigade":

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred (two-hundred eighty)
"Forward the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns," he said
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred. (two-hundred eighty)

"Forward, the Light Brigade!"
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Someone had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred. (two-hundred eighty)

But still you charge. Still you vote for a bill the American public has repudiated, after extensive debate, by 18 points. Still you back legislation that seniors oppose by two to one. Still you use your majorities to pass the single most unpopular piece of legislation in recent history.

Civil rights, Social Security, women's suffrage -- all of Harry Reid's metaphors -- were popular and had broad approving majorities. This bill has the opposite: a nation paralyzed with fear for what you are about to do to its healthcare.

Will you listen to the elderly who absorb 40 percent of medical care and not to the AARP, which you have bought by way of a promise to eliminate Medicare Advantage?

Will you listen to the doctors of America, two to one in opposition, and not to the AMA, which you have bludgeoned into submission via your threats of reimbursement cuts?

Will you stop to examine how, as Democrats, you can vote to slice $500 billion from Medicare and cut home healthcare? Former comrades-in-arms, former party-mates, do not commit party-cide by passing this bill!

Is this to be your epitaph? That you put all healthcare under government control? That your legacy is to be the waiting list to see a doctor? That the memorial to your public service is to be the denial of care at a bureaucrat's whim?

Many of you must know that you are sacrificing your careers. Can Blanche Lincoln, Byron Dorgan, Harry Reid and others really believe they will return?

Can any of you believe you will remain in the majority after you have so flouted the obvious will of your constituents?

Why does this pied piper have such power over you? His approval is sinking in every poll at a pace unprecedented for presidents. If he promises you judgeships, ambassadorships, Cabinet posts or other patronage to enliven your retirement, can you doubt that there is but a two-year term in the offing?

And think about what the deficit you are creating will do to your country. The nation you have already burdened with so much debt that you know and we all know that inflating the currency is the only way out! In your souls you must know that in five years and 10 years and 15vyears, it will be the skyrocketing cost of the system you now put in place that will animate future deficits. You must realize that the CBO estimates are a fiction created by 10 years of taxing divided by six years of spending.

What has gotten into you? Where are your senses? What happened to your instincts?

Are you all to line up and drink the Kool-Aid, march off the cliff in lockstep? Charge into the cannon?

Charging an army, while
All the world wonder'd:
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.

Have you truly worked for this all your life: to sacrifice your political careers to pass the most unpopular piece of legislation I can ever remember passing Congress?

* * *

I wouldn't mind seeing every single Senator who votes for this bill hung from nearest tree for the traitors they are to both the Constitution of the United States of America, and the will of the American People.

One Man Death Panel

Those on the right that suggested the Democratic health care reform proposals (if by "reform" one means destroying the economy) have taken a lot of heat from their lefty counterparts. We can't be sure those lefties ever read what their heros propose, but we can be sure that they grab the first thing they can to further demonize or mock the right wing. The term "death panel" was not meant as a literal panel where a group of people sit in judgement of who will live or die. It was used to describe the very real and hard to counter consequence of the reform proposal.

Government run health care must concern itself with costs first and foremost. It's not possible for it to worry about people when it has made the promise to cover absolutely everyone. The task is too daunting, especially for a body that fails to efficiently run and fund far smaller programs. Most everything begun ends up costing far more than anyone ever predicted or dared to predict. Money must be found somewhere and since that is limited, short of taxing everyone 100% of their income, cost/benefit juggling must occur. Looking at how costs can be contained then becomes a matter of deciding what services can be trimmed, or who remains eligible to receive those services. In other words, quality goes down for everyone, or service is suspended for some. What then would be the result? In either scenario, people will die who ordinarily would have continued receiving life saving/prolonging care. Someone will be making the decisions regarding these cuts and whether that's a panel of several people or just one person will make little difference to those impacted.

The left would rather mock than really think things out to their logical conclusions. We see it all the time. Support the proposal for what it claims it will do, while ignoring the consequences that are obvious to those who really pay attention. (Read the link to which the title of this thread will take you.)

Summit, Schmummit!

Barry has chosen to waste time pretending to act by holding a jobs summit. I wonder how much tax money is going into hosting this farce?

The means of producing jobs is not a mystery, except to "brilliant" people like him. It is one of the main points of contention between conservative and socialist (I use the term socialist because it's a more accurate description of this administration. Yeah, "socialist".) Conservatives know that the private sector is where real job creation takes place. Barry pretends to know this. As the article says right off, "...Obama said the government's resources are limited and that growth ultimately must come from the private sector." He's only partially correct here. Growth ONLY comes from the private sector.

Of course, some of the usual idiots (paging Nancy Pelosi!) think that spending more is the answer. Nonsense. Stimulus and bailouts almost destroyed Japan. Spending less and taxing less is the only thing we need from government. All other imput is destructive.

Newt Gingrich lists some tried and true alternatives to the economic annihilation already in progress by the progressives in power. As he points out, it doesn't take a genius in economics to understand the true stimulative effects of his proposals. In fact, it is likely over the head of "brilliant" presidents. We know Nancy and Harry and other Dems in Congress are too stupid to understand it. I fear there are some Repubs that need it explained to them as well. Thus, we need to call our representatives and demand they enact these policies. The over 800 billion in stimulus money that hasn't been spent can handle most of the necessary programs that have lead to our bloated government. I would wager that it would likely last long enough for the effects of proper fiscal policy takes effect.

This, of course is not all that needs to be done. I've just finished Newt's book "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less". He has beautifully outlined the problem with our energy policies, who's muckin' it up, and what should be done instead. I'm hoping to give a review of this book soon and I will be adding a link at my personal blog to his American Solutions website. Lots of good stuff there. But I bring up the book for the fact that energy is another area where progressives and activists have interfered with what can strengthen our economy and security, as well as providing jobs and lower costs. These are more REAL solutions that have been put forth by the right side of the aisle that even some Repubs seem to miss or ignore.

Then, naturally, if we can prevent the horror that is Dem devised health care reform and enact the proven common sense actions put forth by the right, the impact to our economy will be as intense as spinach Popeye sucks through his pipe. The result will even be more money for the programs for which fewer people will need. How cool is that?

Get busy. Call your reps. Talk to your friends. There must be a groundswell of popular support for common sense to defeat the destruction being wrought by the psuedo-brilliant and unworthy holder of the title POTUS and those like him.

Better Watch It Now, Al Queda!

As difficult as it was, I watched Barry's speech tonight wherein he laid out his plan for the war in Afghanistan. Most of it could have been lifted from anything Bush said supporting his efforts there and in Iraq. "We must deny al-Qaida a safe haven," Obama said "We must reverse the Taliban's momentum. ... And we must strengthen the capacity of Afghanistan's security forces and government." Wow. Original thoughts there. Of course, he's not adding the amount of troops requested by McChrystal, and he is putting down a timeline, which Bush would never do. What I can't figure out is exactly what he could have been pondering to only come out finally saying he's gonna do what was asked for the whole time. If that ain't "dithering", I don't know what is. I just heard nothing that impressed me as original or revelatory about his plan or Barry as a commander-in-chief.

More worrying is that he didn't speak with any passion like someone convinced of victory or even convinced that we're capable of victory. But then, we know he has a problem with the concept of victory. As Krauthammer said, he's no Churchill. Not even close. The cadets looked like they were falling asleep.

Perhaps Barry's hoping that enough Dems are stupid enough to block funding for this effort. That would allow him to wash his hands of the Taliban take-over that will occur if our troops are pulled too soon or left as they are, in need of that 40,000 troop surge. Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis., as well as other liberal House Democrats threatened to try to block such funding. Carl Levin, the Michigan Dem, spoke of tax hikes on the rich (you know, the people with the endless supply of money) or gasoline taxes which'll screw the rest of us.

An AP article said this: "Obama's address represents the beginning of a sales job to restore support for the war effort among an American public grown increasingly pessimistic about success..." If there's any pessimism, it has been cultivated by the Dems who have gone out of their way to inhibit our ability to win. Pessimism vanishes in the face of victory. As we record successes and then report on those successes to the American public, it is optimism that will arise. And if we have a president who exudes the attitude of a winner, of a victorious military leader, then, as in WWII, the people will rally in support of their fellow Americans who are doing the real heavy lifting, and throw their support behind them in many ways.

Barry said this won't be easy. Hmmm. Where have I heard THAT before? Ah, yes! It was George W. Bush from the very beginning all througout the war! Barry said we were once unified. Bullhockey. The two parties were never unified behind Bush as he sought to do what Barry thinks he's gonna do with his half-assed attitude. And it seems that's still the case when considering the above paragraph. The stakes in this contest are still what they were since 9/11. Barry has two advantages now. 1) His opponents favor victory where Bush's didn't. 2) He has only Afghanistan to worry about, not there AND Iraq. But still, my advice to him would be this: stand back, let the generals in charge run the show while Barry says what they tell him to say. If victory doesn't seem any closer in six months, get new generals. Since he fancies himself a modern day Lincoln, he could act like him here.

God bless and protect our troops. They'll need all the help they can get.

Failure in Chief

Another great analysis is found here. For a man of great brilliance, a man of whom Chris Matthews said what? "Maybe he's too intellectual?" For such a man, I would expect some manifestation of said brilliance by now. I guess the abject failure of his first year explains why one cannot get his college records publicized. What a fraud.

American Hubris, American Toast

Two headlines...

From the Washington Post: "President Who?"

From the New York Times: "Wanted: People Willing to Lead the European Union"

The Czech Republic has signed the Lisbon Treaty; they were the last holdout. And with this final signature Europe is now a nation... The United States of Europe, if you will. In honor of this momentous occasion a new Permanent President was chosen to lead the new nation of Europe... Belgian Premier Herman Van Rompuy. Chosen as High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs was Catherine Ashton, formerly of the British Labor Party.

I presume that Britain scoffed just as much upon learning the names of those who would lead the new United States of America 200 years ago. But now, it is the New York Times and the Washington Post questioning Europe's new leaders. Imagine the Hubris of a nation whose OWN leader is systematically dismantling... no DESTROYING... America, yet has the temerity to question the choice of Europe's new leaders.

Barack Obama and Liberalism is destroying this country. Obama is the worst mistake this nation has every made short of Roe.

Europe will grow strong, America will continue to grow weak. We will stumble and fall, and there will be no one to pick us up. At least, no one who really wants to pick us up. America is already toast, but no one on the Left can see it.

I know a lot of you don't believe this kind of stuff, but God is going to judge this nation very soon. If He doesn't He'll have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.

We deserve whatever comes our way. We're already seeing our just desserts in our new President; a godless man if ever there was one... a man apparently wholly devoid of Godly wisdom... in possession of a government that has forgotten God AND the Constitution... that actively scorns the Constitution. We deserve whatever comes our way. Europe will rise, America will fall. Troublesome times will come; persecution, deaths in the billions, the entire world at war.

Even so Lord Jesus, come.

You are all witness to events leading toward the fulfillment of Bible prophecy.

Obama seeks a legacy for his name? How about this one: Ignorant Yet Useful Tool For the Destruction of America, and the Chaos that Must Follow.

Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

Historic Doesn't Mean "Good"

So the Senate voted to advance the health care bill. What a surprise. All 58 Dems and both independents (Lieberman and the socialist Sanders) have once again proven their incompetence by acting as if this disaster they call health care reform is actually better than doing nothing. It isn't. Not by a long shot. I mean, really, what's to debate? The thing is a crap sandwich to be sure.

Of course doing nothing isn't the way to go. Indeed, the right has suggested quite a few ways to bring down the cost of health care that will actually work, if only the dullards on the other side of the aisle would liberate their rectally located heads to understand the obvious. Tort reform, allowing business across state lines, and hey, why not cut the waste FIRST, and then see where we stand? Jeez. Where do these people come from? Oh yeah. Dem and lefty voters elect them. It's too bad that lefties need to experience third degree burns before they understand that fire is dangerous. It's worse that they burn all of us at the same time.

The Yahoo article on this sad event described the bill as "historic". 9/11 was historic, too. So was Pearl Harbor. So was the Chicago Fire. This is history we don't want to see.

Dollar Will Be Utterly Destroyed.... ?

Any thoughts? Can't brush this one off... it's CNBC for crying out loud!

Anyone have ANY perspective on the "potential" collapse of the US Dollar?

Another Questionable Appointee

As this article demonstrates, there is more reason for concern. Once again, with every move Barry makes, we move more and more in the wrong direction.

The judicial nomination highlighted in the link is another example of Barry's poor judgement and the absence of brilliance so many claim he possesses. Read the piece and then contact your Senator and encourage that the man not be confirmed. We need judges and justices that understand the Constitution. We can forgive Barry's selection because we now know he has no idea what the Constitution is all about.

"Draconian" that about sums it up.

"Back in the USSR"

Read Dick Morris' latest column.

Jail For No Insurance Under Pelosi Bill

The nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation reported that the House version of the health care bill specifies that those who don't buy health insurance and do not pay the fine of about 2.5% of their income for failing to do so can face a penalty of up to five years in prison!

The bill describes the penalties as follows:

* Section 7203 - misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.

* Section 7201 - felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years." [page 3]

That anyone should face prison for not buying health insurance is simply incredible.

And how much will the stay-out-of-jail insurance cost? The Joint Committee noted that "according to a recent analysis by the Congressional Budget Office, the lowest-cost family non-group plan under HR 3862 (the Pelosi bill) would cost $15,000 by 2016."

Obama's bill only provides subsidies to help pay this enormous sum after families making about $45,000 have paid 8% of their income for insurance and after those earning a household income of about $65,000 have kicked in 12%.

The Joint Committee on Taxation noted that while the Senate Finance Committee version of the bill did not include criminal penalties, "The House Democrats' bill, however, contains no similar language protecting American citizens from civil and criminal tax penalties that could include a $250,000 fine and five years in jail."

Remember that simply buying catastrophic insurance, which may be all the young uninsured family needs, does not constitute having adequate insurance under the Obama bill. It has to be total, all inclusive insurance for one to avoid the penalties in the legislation. That is because Obama wants to use these premiums from the currently uninsured to subsidize his program.

So Ms. Pelosi is requiring Americans to pay these steep premiums, or a fine of 2.5% of their income for not doing so, or, potentially, go to prison!

Anyone who is familiar with the U.S. prison system can attest to the large number of people incarcerated for similar white collar offenses. That the House bill would treat failure to carry health insurance or pay the fine as tax evasion or willful nonpayment is amazing!

And where is the constitutional basis for requiring everyone to buy insurance? It is OK for a state to make drivers pay for automobile insurance. Driving is not a right, it is a privilege, and the state may regulate it by demanding insurance. Banks can require homeowners to buy insurance as a condition of their lending. But how does the federal government get the right to require a family to buy health insurance or face a civil penalty and, failing that, to face either a criminal fine or jail?

The tough penalties in the House bill are designed to keep insurance companies from opposing the bill. It was the relaxation of these penalties in the Senate Finance Committee version of the legislation that led the companies to reverse field and come out in opposition to the legislation. The insurance companies want to see their coffers swell when tens of millions of new customers are required to buy insurance. The more draconian the penalties for failing to pay them large sums of money to pad their bottom lines, the better.

The more you read this bill, the worse it gets.

Folks. I don't claim to be prescient, but all the clues were there PRIOR to last November's election. Does anyone in this God-forsaken country KNOW what the constitution says? Does anyone care? If this ever gets signed by President Stalin, this country is gone... Your freedoms are gone, your liberty is gone... the American Dream is gone. Enter despair for those with eyes to see and minds to understand... enter ignorant bliss and mindless adoration for a government actively pissing on all the rest... us included. Can't tell the difference between the two? The ones with any sense and ability to think for themselves will be holding aloft umbrellas.

Question For Barry Supporters

I got this in an email and thought I'd put it here for input from Barry O supporters:

If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how he inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?

If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan's holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?

If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia , would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?

If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?

If George W. Bush had mis-spelled the word "advice" would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoe as proof of what a dunce he is?

If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?

If George W. Bush's administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11?

If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans , would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?

If George W. Bush had created the position 32 or more Czars who report directly to him, bypassing the House and Senate on much of what is happening in America , would you have approved.

If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?

If George W Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had spent more than all the Presidents combined since George Washington, would you have approved?
So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive? Can't think of anything? Don't worry. He's done all this in 10 months -- so you'll have 3 years and 2 months to come up with an answer.

Direction

Many are hailing the recent Republican victories in New Jersey, Virginia and elsewhere. The Maine victory for traditional marriage is especially uplifting, particularly considering it's, well, Maine. Many are hoping it signals a change in direction for America. I think the best we can say at this point is that it's a nice hiccup and see what happens with continued pressure from the grassroots. I'm optimistic.

Yes, I'm optimistic but in a pessimistic way. That is, things will improve (more will begin to vote for conservative candidates) only after things get much worse.

Libs like to say that they support Obama because they approve of the direction he wants to take this country. But none of them really knew who the hell they were voting for and still don't. They listened to his campaign rhetoric and pretended he was saying something and yelled, "I'm for THAT!" People like Limbaugh and Beck can document all they like the actions and associates that illustrate the real man, but they pretend they know who Limbaugh and Beck are and believe lies they hear about them. And then they go on believing Obama says things when he opens his mouth and they pretend he's done something as a president that has made a difference. Well, OK, he has done a thing or two that has made a difference, but I meant that his supporters somehow believe he's made positive differences.

Among these "differences" are his czars. He's got more czars in ten months than Russia had in her entire history. And the calibur of these people is beyond words. This Phyllis Schlafly piece speaks of another appointee of Obama's. How can anyone look at the people with whom Barry has surrounded himself, both in his past, with scumbags like Bill Ayers, the not-so-reverend Wright, Tony Retzko, and his present, namely, all his czars, then add to that positions he's taken, like his abortion stance, his stim and bailout plans, his takeovers of the financial and auto industries and his attempt to take over health care, how can anyone look at all that and say they like the direction he's taking us? How can anyone do that and say they love America? At what point do such people ever consider the possible consequences of the things a guy like this can do?

It might seem harsh to say that libs hate America. Naive is likely the most accurate term, but the damage their naivete will inflict feels like hatred to me. Frankly, when rank stupidity results in the amount of harm that's been done followed by the harm that's coming should health care reform as they want it passes, it really doesn't matter whether the pain was a result of malicious intent or incompetent ignorance. All I know is there's pain and suffering.

A great disservice was done to America by it's own people a year ago. Most of those responsible don't even know it. Others are living in a freakin' dream world believing there's improvement afoot. I've met a few who are without a doubt feeling buyer's remorse and regret their vote. If I've sounded harsh and hateful in this and recent postings, it's not likely to get any better, because I have my regrets, too. The midterm elections of '06 marks the real notable moment in history. It marked the time when the party that should have done their job, because the other party doesn't even know how, didn't. What came next was a change of power to the incompetents. Now they run the whole show and the shit has hit the fan. It's spraying all over the walls and it'll take a huge effort to clean it up. That effort should have taken place well before those '06 elections. THAT'S when there should have been tea parties and increased citizen participation. THAT'S when we could have made sure this country was headed in the right direction. We took our hands off the freakin' wheel and now the children have grabbed it and we're headed for a major crash. Yeah. It's our fault.

A Historic Event?

Tonight, or rather Saturday night, we learn that the House passed the 19,000 page health care reform bill. I believe this was Pelosi's baby. I believe it will take a long time to find a job.

The passage of this bill was described as historic by Pelosi and she's absolutely right. It will cause all sorts of problems for our economy despite her promise that it won't add to the deficit. Frankly, I don't believe she's read the damned thing anymore than anyone who supports it has. When the hell do they have the time to read such monstrocities?

Now it goes to the Senate and they will jack around with their version which, if it passes also, will then be meshed somehow with the House version and then rammed down our collective throats. They don't freakin' care.

We on the right get all sorts of heat from our liberal opponents when we say the Obama and the Dems hate our country. Yet, they expect us to believe otherwise when burdensome, economy busting legislation like this shit is rushed through without real debate. There is no way any law, any bill, any proposal of any kind needs to be over a couple dozen pages at the most. That it can be as lengthy as this death to America bill means trouble as the average American can never easily wade through it, with many simply unable to understand what the hell they're even looking at. The scum in Washington know this and so they make sure it's big as hell and ram it through as fast as they can. They know they can because they have the votes. If anyone, like a Republican, insists they slow down so everyone can read it, digest it and debate it properly, they scream of Republican obstruction. They hate us. They want only to rule over us. They are despotic bastards. At best, they are incompetent, arrogant bastards. But they're bastards everyone.

Our best hope now is the Supreme Court and some good legal people demonstrating how unConstitutional it is for the Federal gov't to assume it can in any way demand that I buy anything. They are way the hell overstepping their bounds here. I am offended to say the least that they would dare require me to do anything other than abide the rights of others.

More and more I feel contempt for those I know, and that includes close family members, who have casted votes for this asshole president and for that matter, any Democrat at all. We are in for a hell of a ride. I pray to Almighty God that people feel the hurt immediately so as to compell them to vote out as many of these jerks as they can as soon as they can beginning with the upcoming mid-terms.

Yeah, it's historic. It marks a further downturn in American prosperity, liberty and strength. Thanks Dem voters.

America haters.

Sending A Message

"The character inherent in the American people has done all that has been accomplished; and it would have done somewhat more, if the government had not sometimes got in its way." ~ Henry David Thoreau

Probably, by now, both of my readers have learned of the Republican victories in yesterday's Gubernatorial elections in Virginia and New Jersey.

Here in Virginia, the Republican party made a clean sweep, winning the Governors race, as well as Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General.

This makes me very happy. I believe it's the first time since I've been voting that all the candidates I voted for have won.

In New Jersey, the mostly Liberal Democrat and "moderate" voters have joined with Republicans to oust corruption plagued Governor Corzine, and install a Republican Governor.

I was at work when my wife called me and told me of the Republican victory in Virginia. My boss was standing nearby when I received the call, and he looked at me with a quizzical expression when I disconnected. When I told him the news, he responded, "It's not surprising. Obama has screwed up this country so much, it's no wonder people are voting Republican. They will vote for Republicans in the next Presidential elections, too."

I've read a couple of articles so far that also suggest these victories are significant losses for Barack Hussein Obama.

The general consensus seems to be that these outcomes will send the message to the White house that American voters are not happy with the way Obama is presiding over our country.

I disagree.

Barack Hussein Obama is much too arrogant and narcissistic to consider the results of these elections a personal loss for him or his administration. Although Obama personally campaigned on behalf of the losing candidates in these races, he will not even consider that he had any effect whatsoever on their outcomes. He will probably blame the losses on incompetent or inadequate campaigning by the Democratic candidate's campaign personnel, or on Fox News.

If it was sent to Obama, I don't think he will get the message.

I do, however, think these Republican victories will send a message to the United States Senate and House of Representatives.

They have been ignoring the will of the majority for too long now.

They have been thumbing their collective noses at we the people.

They have been running things their way, and now it's coming back to haunt them in a big way.

I believe last night's elections are just the beginning of a long needed house cleaning. More will come. There will be a changing of the guard.

Perhaps now the Legislature will sit up and take notice. Perhaps now they will listen to the voice of the people.

If they value their jobs. If they wish to be re-elected.

The message has been delivered.

The question now is: Will they listen?
