Great Minds Think Alike

Over on my own blog, "Casting Pearls before Swine" I pointed out the media have created in Barack Hussein Obama, a bigger than life super man who is "too big to succeed". By that I mean, in their zeal to be part of the history making event of helping Obama get elected President, they have raised expectations of what Obama will accomplish as President that are impossible to achieve.

He will not meet expectations, thus, he has become too big to succeed. My exact words were, "The media, in their zeal to get The Chosen One elected, have only set America up for one huge disappointment."

Now Juan Williams has published an article in the Wall Street Journal that echos my sentiment. In the article, he writes, "There is a dangerous trap being set here. The same media people invested in boosting a black man to the White House as a matter of history have set very high expectations for him. When he disappoints, as presidents and other human beings inevitably do, the backlash may be extreme."

It is as if he read my article first and then expounded. For those who aren't familiar with Mr. Williams, he is a black contributor on the FOX news channel and NPR, and he is a Liberal.

That should give him credibility among the Liberal readers of this blog.

  1. B-B-B-But, Mark! didn't you know Juan Williams is an "Uncle Tom"?

The fact is, Obama's hype is about as authentic as the quartet performance of Yo-Yo, Pearlman, and the others who played the classical piece at the inauguration ceremony.

  2. Apparently the Libtards that infest this blog agree with my (and Mr William's) assessment that Obama can only fail as a President.

My father used to say, "Silence gives consent" Since they are silent, they must agree.

  3. Uncle Tom? [snort!] Juan Williams is a Liberal! A fair-minded Liberal, but a Liberal nonetheless.

  4. He may be a Liberal, but he's right this time.

All except for the part about the backlaswh.

The Big Media will NEV-VER turn against Obama. They will white-wash, cover up, and ignore his mis-steps and trumpet his successes from the mountain-tops for as long as they can still get anyone to pay them any attention at all.

After all, they have nothing to lose... Not anymore.

They sold whatever credibility they had left getting him elected.

As far as the silence from the resident Lib-tards... What can they say?

They cannot very well say that Obama should NOT be held to the same standards as every other president...

Thier only options are to agree, or be quiet.

  5. " A fair-minded Liberal..."

And that's all we can truly expect. I like Williams for that.

  6. Actually, most liberals and left-leaning folks, like me, have been frustrated by the multiple examples of really dumb reporting so far.

Actually, I am confident that he will succeed. Otherwise, I wouldn't have supported him. Right now, he has the vast majority of the American people (you folks excluded) behind him. A Gallup poll has his disapproval at 12%. Think on that for the moment.

And Juan Williams may be fair minded, but he is a member of an exclusive club whose members include Cokie Roberts and David Broder - they are Washington insiders, and at least in the case of Roberts and Williams, more than occasionally say some of the stupidest things ever.

  7. Geoffrey's comment is both funny and confusing. The left is frustrated by really dumb reporting?

The really dumb reporters are the left!

Captain Obvious says he has confidence in Obama and that's why he supports him.

    Well....duh!

And here's the funniest part: "...more than occasionally say some of the stupidest things ever."

Well, again I say...duh! There's no doubt he says stupid things. He's a Liberal!

What's amazing about this piece is that he's a Liberal and yet, says something intelligent! That's really amazing!

  8. "Uncle Tom? [snort!] " - Eric

"And that's all we can truly expect. I like Williams for that." - MA

Yes, an Uncle Tom because he actually debates relatively fairly.

  9. "Think on that for the moment."

Okay...I did. He's been president for less than a week.

Your faith in Obama exceeds your faith in God, J-Off.
