More Clinton than Clinton?

The Obama Administration...is it more Clinton than a Clinton Administration would have been?

  1. I'm having a hard time understanding why change from the last 8 years is not in fact change. Can someone explain this?

  2. Of course, Jim, attempting to bring back the Clinton administration would indeed be change from the Bush admin. If fact, if Barry imitated the John Quincy Adams admin, that too would be change. But it seems to me that the messiah was speaking to a more profound change than simply going back to the previous admin. With his current picks, he appears to be copying, not changing. Is this what YOU expected when he said "change"?

  3. I expected change to competency, intelligence, mature leadership, and expertise in the areas concerned.

As the last three months have unfolded, I also began to hope for a real fulfillment of Obama's leadership and vision.

    My expectations have been met.

Perhaps you, MA, were hoping for some liberal utopia? Being an rabid idealogue, that's what I would have expected from you.

As it is impossible to go back and see how anyone else would do in the exact same circumstances, you can at best only assume that your messiah Obama would be more competent, intelligent or mature. As he has no past performance that demonstrates any of these qualities, it remains to be seen if anyone's expectations in those regards will be met. If you believe Obama meets them, then you obviously have low expectations since, as I said, he's done nothing so far. Well, he has shown a lack of maturity if his social positions are any indication.

But to tell you the truth, I would have absolutely no idea what a "liberal utopia" would look like, having more intelligence, competency and maturity than is required to be a liberal. In fact, I'm overqualified. Thus, I'm a conservative.

And how do you define "rabid idealogue"? One who is unwavering in his understanding of truth, common sense, logic, tradition, honor, self-discipline and other such qualities and values? If so, I'm guilty as charged. Thus, I'm a conservative. If I lacked those, I'd likely be a liberal.

  5. For someone who thinks no one is good, you have an inflationary (and airy) sense of yourself.

You are overqualified for idiocy and bombastic self concern.

I expected the Democratic Party to be the party of moral concern. And that is exactly the change from Bush's politics and Clinton's personality that I was hoping for and am now getting.

Your First Amendment right to free speech is a privilege and comes with a measure of responsibility. You have the right to exercise that responsibility here but we reserve the right to inform you when you've used that right irresponsibly.

We are benevolent dictators in this regard. Enjoy.
