I pay taxes. Or rather, I would pay taxes if I had the money to afford them. I have a tax bill I can't pay, so the IRS has courteously started removing extra money from each of my paychecks until my delinquent bill is paid off. I got this tax bill AFTER the IRS deducted a percentage of my check from every paycheck during the year. Apparently, I didn't pay enough by payroll deduction.

I really get sick of people (Conservatives included) who say the poor don't pay taxes. If we work, we pay taxes. The only poor people that don't pay taxes are the ones who get their income from real taxpayers, and that includes me.

Those parasites live better than me! I want to vomit every time I see some fat welfare queen step out of her brand new Mercedes and go into the local market to buy T-bone steaks with her food stamps. And don't even try to tell me that doesn't happen. I see it everyday.

You want to complain of a lack of fairness in America? Then, do something about it. Don't vote for that Communist, Obama!

If he has his way there will be more leeches with entitlement addictions living off the teat of the Government than ever before, and you, Jim, will be footing the bill.Markhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15633208787250567256noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-570497968855832694.post-30486449448596458372012-05-05T23:30:12.830-05:002012-05-05T23:30:12.830-05:00Jim I've watched you continue to advocate high...Jim I've watched you continue to advocate higher taxes, and more taxes.

No you haven't. I've advocated only two things: return to the Clinton tax rates, and increasing capital gains tax. Well maybe three if you count raising the cap on Social Security taxes.

You seem to think, in spite of all the facts that say the opposite, that raising taxes will bring in more revenue and pay off the national debt

Let's take these one at a time. I do think, and all the facts will concur with me, that raising taxes will raise revenues. However, I do NOT think that raising taxes will pay off the national debt (any time soon).

Of course, you haven't explained how we are going to make a living when the Governments taking so much more of our own hard earned money.

Nobody is asking for more of your money. We made a living (the nation flourished) during the Clinton administration. Ending the Bush-era cuts would only take rates back to pre-2001.

You no doubt know, by now, that I am not a wealthy man.

Yes, I seem to recall from a while back that you were working at a cell phone kiosk or something like that and making about $1,000 a month. After exemptions and standard deduction if you are married, your adjusted taxable income should be less than zero (based on 2000 rates). That would make you part of the 47% that pays no federal taxes. Worst case, if your taxable income was $10,000, the difference between 2000 rates and 2005 rates is $500. Nothing to sneeze at, I agree. But nobody has suggested raising YOUR rates at all.

since you seem to be so fond of paying taxes

Like most everyone else, I dislike paying taxes. But I'd be willing to pay more if it would help my country. And I have no problem paying what I legally owe in order to receive the many, many benefits that are derived from them.

In the meantime, Obama has lowered taxes for almost everyone.Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10004209843701697773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-570497968855832694.post-2075489013017192012-05-05T22:44:11.748-05:002012-05-05T22:44:11.748-05:00Jim I've watched you continue to advocate high...Jim I've watched you continue to advocate higher taxes, and more taxes. You seem to think, in spite of all the facts that say the opposite, that raising taxes will bring in more revenue and pay off the national debt (if we only tax enough, I guess). So, I challenge you, since you seem to be so fond of paying taxes, to pay mine for me.
