INSANE.... Spiritually speaking...

When half a nation divests itself of commonsense; when half a nation has no fear of God, blasphemy is not far behind.

I don't care to see blasphemy laws enacted here in the US; especially the one fronted by the U.N. (The only religion it would defend, primarily, is Islam). I believe everyone has the right to say what he wants provided it doesn't cause harm; the right to swing my fist, for example, ends at the tip of your nose, or crying 'fire!' in a crowded building.

So what can we say about Jamie Foxx who asked a crowded auditorium to "give an honor to...our lord and savior Barack Obama"? He was only joking? Who jokes about such a thing? A fool. A fool with no reverence for, or fear of, God.

This is what comes of removing all vestiges of God in our education and judicial systems, and public square. We are a nation who has forgotten God.

But Jamie Foxx was only joking!

I believe he was, but this is nothing to joke about. Barack Obama didn't die a painful and humiliating death on the cross to save us from our sin. God didn't so love the world that he gave his ONLY begotten son, Barack Obama, that whosoever believed on him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Barack Obama is not God!

That's right, Jesus IS God, and God is Jesus.

Now, what man is it the bible says will be revered and worshiped as God? Do I really need to answer that? Do I believe that man which the bible describes is Barack Obama? Certainly not. But neither do I believe Obama is a born again believer of Christ. And I can't imagine any born again believer saying what Jamie Foxx did, unless he was seriously backslidden, and his conscience dramatically seared.

This country is sick. It needs a healer. It needs a Godly prescription. Otherwise the cancer which has already metastasized in America's soul will surely kill it. And soon.

It's Your Fault

by Ben Kinchlow (formerly of The 700 Club)

It’s your fault! Yes, yours! Don’t look around, look in the mirror. It’s your fault, you hard-working nine-to-fivers, small business owners, corporate staffs, factory owners and workers. You are to blame for the current state of affairs in America, for the liberal (now “progressive”) oriented 49 percenters who voted Obama in for another four years. You are to blame.

Yeah, I know some of you are asking (some a little less polite but just as hot), “How in blazes can you say this is my fault? I worked my tail off to get where I am, and I don’t care what Obama says, I did build it!” Yes you did, and that’s the problem.

Let’s set the “way back” machine to the “revolution” of the ’60s. Remember? Hippies, free love, “make love, not war,” acid trips, the Jesus movement, sit-ins, etc.; some of us were right in the middle of it. “Yeah, yeah, that was then, this is now. What does that have to do with anything, especially what is going down in America today?” Just everything.

Let me make this short, sweet and to the point for you. This is what happened; yesterday, after the last “toke on the doobie,” the last acid trip and the “Jesus freaks” off in church somewhere, we all started down the road to today.

All you hard-working nine-to-fivers, small and large business owners, corporate staff, factory owners and workers, what did you do? Let me guess – in pursuit of the American dream, you finished school and/or joined the service or went to work or into business. You knew that while there might be a free-love scene (maybe even participated. I mean, it was free, right?), you knew there was no free lunch, and so you hung up your “tie dyes” and went out and hit it.

You had learned from Mom and Pop, Grand-père or friends and relations that, despite the long hair’s rhetoric, there was no free lunch (“You don’t work, you don’t eat”) and besides, “This is still America, the sky is the limit!” So you graduated, grabbed a briefcase or a lunch pail, punched the time clock and got with the program.

Oh yeah, what about the long haired, anti-American, sit-in types? Wonder what happened to them? After all, they weren’t into all this “work hard, succeed and make dreams come true in the land of opportunity” jazz. Well, guess what? They really did believe “your” America was faulty and needed to be changed. None of this “nine-to-five working stiff” jazz for them; they were determined, committed to changing the system. So, while you went into the market place, they went into academia and the media. While you were at work attempting to make life better and provide college for your kids, they became the teachers and professors in those self-same colleges you were struggling to put your kids through. (Lest some forget, all Ivy League colleges like Yale, Harvard, Princeton, etc., were founded as schools dedicated to educations based on biblical, not religious but transcendent, principles.)

Would you like to hazard a guess as to what many colleges/universities are teaching your kids today? While the president of Fordham University “scolded” a campus group for inviting Ann Coulter (whom they subsequently uninvited) to address the students, Bill Ayers (yes, that Bill Ayers) was warmly welcomed by the staff of an Oregon university campus.

This new “progressivism” (nee liberalism) isn’t really all that new. President Woodrow Wilson is reported to have said the purpose of modern education was “to make men as unlike their fathers as possible.” By the way, did you happen to notice the Democratic National Convention video which proclaimed, “Government is the one thing we all belong to”? Truth is, it is the other way around: Government belongs to us, not us to the government.

Here is what another individual had to say about the state:

“When there is state, there can be no freedom, but when there is freedom, there will be no state.” (Lenin)

Early feminist Charlotte Perkins Gilman wanted the state to destroy “the unchecked tyranny … of the private home.”

It is interesting to discover that colleges (and the media) are subtly (or not so subtly) indoctrinating your kids with a different worldview. You know, the one that says America is all wrong; that rich isn’t right (unless you are a movie star, rock star or you are endowing leftist college funds); the other rich folks, the “stinking capitalists” (the ones that worked for it) should take care of the less fortunate – you know, the unmarried “baby mamas” and their “baby daddies” (new correct terminology for unmarried women who get knocked up by men they aren’t married to – neither of whom is working, by the way).

A professor at the University of Rochester, in an article widely read by many college students, has argued that Romney’s success in life is based not on hard work, sacrifice and opportunities available to all, but on “privilege” – “white privilege” – and here you thought it was about study, preparation, hard work and commitment.

Of course, you must understand you can’t expect today’s “free thinkers” to work in some unfulfilling job at a measly minimum wage for some “capitalist pig” or learn some demeaning blue-collar skills. Anyway, “Society owes me, the government has all that money, let the fat cats pay a little more. Besides, if the government (you) had paid for my birth control pills, or abortion (you prudes), I wouldn’t be in this mess. It’s all your fault.”

Wonder where this sort of thinking came from? Perhaps these interesting quotes by Vladimir Lenin may give us some additional insight:

Give us the child for 8 years and it will be a Bolshevik forever.

“Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.”
So, as they say south of the border, and now in many Western states, “Que paso?”

That’s what happened. Both of you – husbands and wives – were so busy making a living you had to turn your children’s education and your media over to the “professionals.” From local school boards to the PTA to university faculties, the “pros” took over.

When they took God out of the classroom, we submitted to their wisdom. As they transformed our basic “old fashioned” (American) values into thinly disguised “modern” (socialist/communist) principles, we were too busy watching the “news” and/or Archie Bunker (our favorite replacement for “Father Knows Best”) to notice.

Instead of telling us who we are, they have focused on telling us who we are not. Emphasis was/is on what we do not have, instead of what we do have.

Guess what? If you (and I) don’t step up and begin to take back our “old-fashioned” America and we end up like most of the “new modern” European Common Market countries, guess whose fault that will be.

Budget to Further Reduce U.S. Military Edge

Red Flag Over The Atlantic
China is angling to take over a U.S. airbase in the Azores.
--Gordon G. Chang

With the threat of sequestration looming, could the loss of a strategic airbase in the northern Atlantic damage the U.S.'s ability to both defend itself and our allies, and remain a superpower?

...Pentagon budget cutters, according to some observers, are planning to make Lajes a “ghost base.”

At one time, the facility was critically important. During World War II, the airfield was instrumental in hunting U-boats, and in the Cold War the base helped the West track the Soviets. Lajes was a busy transit point in the Gulf War. It was one of the spots where the Space Shuttle could have landed in an emergency.

Now Lajes is home to the USAF’s 65th Air Base Wing, which supports American and NATO aircraft transiting the Atlantic, and it hosts various other American military units. Its role, nonetheless, is greatly diminished. Peace in the North Atlantic and advances in air-to-air refueling have decreased the importance of the strategic runway, which is now rarely used by the U.S.

So from a purely military point of view, the decision to cease operations at Lajes makes sense. The effective closure of the field, however, would send Terceira into a tailspin. While agriculture forms the basis of the island’s economy, the base directly accounts for about one in 20 jobs there.

Unemployment is already high, about 10 percent. If Terceira is to have any future, the Portuguese government will have to find a new major tenant for Air Base No. 4.

So what's the big deal? Portugal just get's another tenant? The island doesn't suffer.

Unfortunately, that tenant could likely end up being China.

Terceira, however, has one big attraction for Beijing: Air Base No. 4. Better known as Lajes Field, the facility where Premier Wen’s 747 landed in June is jointly operated by the U.S. Air Force and its Portuguese counterpart. If China controlled the base, the Atlantic would no longer be secure. From the 10,865-foot runway on the northeast edge of the island, Chinese planes could patrol the northern and central portions of the Atlantic and thereby cut air and sea traffic between the U.S. and Europe. Beijing would also be able to deny access to the nearby Mediterranean Sea.

And China could target the American homeland. Lajes is less than 2,300 miles from New York, shorter than the distance between Pearl Harbor and Los Angeles.

On a personal note, I spent  a year on Terceira. It's beautiful... dormant volcano at the center; a volcanic attraction called the Calheta dos Biscoitos to the island's north; black basalt rock everywhere, especially shoring up the terraced agricultural fields. I had lot of fun on that island.

The island is only 240 square miles (roughly 18 miles long and 11 miles wide)... lush vegetation, and hedgehogs. I remember seeing hedgehogs up in the forested hills across from where I lived. If you have the time here's the island on Google Maps.

In a Nation Grown Indifferent Toward God

Franklin Graham:
'We Have Turned Our Backs on God'

Thursday, 15 Nov 2012
By Todd Beamon and Kathleen Walter

The Rev. Franklin Graham charged in an exclusive Newsmax TV interview that America is in a deep economic quagmire because “we have turned our backs on God.”

“The more we turn our backs on God, the bigger our problem becomes,” Graham, the son of world-renowned evangelist Billy Graham, tells Newsmax in a wide-ranging interview. “I didn’t hear any of the candidates say that we needed to call our nation to prayer. I didn’t hear any of the candidates say that we needed to ask God for help.

“We still think that we can work our way out of this problem – and I don’t think we can,” Graham added. “I don’t have confidence in the Republican Party right now, and I don’t have confidence in the Democratic Party.

“I don’t believe there is leadership in Washington that can solve this problem. We just deal with it as issues for the day, and it kicks the can further and further down the road. We need God’s help to solve this problem – we can’t go without God.”

Last week’s election results, which sent President Barack Obama back to the White House for another four years, put the nation further along a “path of destruction,” Graham said.

“There is no question that America has been a nation that has been blessed by almighty God. There is no other nation in the history of mankind that has done what his nation has done – and it’s because of God’s hand and his blessing.

“In the last four years, we have begun to turn our backs on God,” Graham reiterated. “We have taken God out of our education system. We have taken him out of government. You have lawyers that sue you every time you mention the name of Jesus Christ in any public forum.

“What has happened is we have allowed ourselves to take God out everything that we do – and I believe that God will judge our nation one day.”

And, “maybe God will have to bring our nation to our knees – to where that we just have a complete economic collapse” to do that, Graham said. “Maybe at that point, people will again call upon the name of almighty God.”

Unintended Consequences of Bad Ideas

Florida Denny's, Dairy Queens, Putting
'Obamacare Surcharge' on Bill

Thursday, 15 Nov 2012
Bill Hoffman

Financial fallout from Obamacare will spur dozens of eateries in South Florida to tack a five-percent surcharge onto all meals, one restaurant mogul says.

John Metz — who runs 40 Denny's and Dairy Queens and owns the Hurricane Grill & Wings franchise — says his business will be hit hard by the January 2014 start of President Barack Obama’s healthcare mandate.

And his only alternative is, “I’ve got to pass on the cost to the customer,’’ he told the Huffington Post.

When patrons see they have to cough up a five-percent surcharge, one possibility is they could end up reducing the amount of the tip they leave for their server.

In addition, Metz will reduce the hours of his employees.

“I think it's a terrible thing. It's ridiculous that the maximum hours we can give people is 28 hours a week instead of 40,’’ the West Palm Beach businessman said. “It's going to force my employees to go out and get a second job.'’

Metz plans to hold meetings at his restaurants next month to tell his staffers of the upcoming changes.

Obamacare will make businesses or franchises with more than 50 workers to offer a government-approved insurance plan.

Either that or they will have to pay a penalty of $2,000 for each full-time worker in businesses with more than 30 workers.

Other restaurant chains including Papa John's, Olive Garden and Red Lobsters have already announced that they will have to reduce employees’ hours.

Despite the potential turmoil to Americans’ wallets, a recent poll for Kaiser Health Tracking found 43 percent Americans had a favorable opinion of Obamacare as opposed to 39 percent against it.

The decision to tack on an Obamacare surcharge has caused plenty of reaction on Twitter, such as MPH Unlimited, who wrote: "Denny's to feature new 'Obabam Slam', you order one meal but you have to pay for every Taker currently waiting in the restaurant."

Only 43% of Americans have a favorable view of Obamacare. Just a few months ago some 63% of Americans wanted the law repealed and replaced with something more sensible. But 43% is hardly a majority, and of that number how many would rather see the law rebuilt altogether?

Here's the problem. Government hacks on both sides of the political fence routinely write and manage to pass bills that sound good on paper but strike a cacophony of discordant notes in implementation like, as detailed above:

  • Surcharges for services
  • Redefinition of 'full-time' work hours

Don't believe for a moment that additional surcharges at restaurants will be the only unintended consequence of the implementation Obamacare. The cost of everything is going to go up (I'd add "at least for a time," but the truth is, 'for a time' simply means 'that space between implementation and the moment when everyone gets used to the 'New Normal''), and stay up for the foreseeable future.

Making this even harder is the unintended consequence of the redefinition of 'full-time' hours. With everything costing more, people will soon have less money to throw around, unless they take on second-- and even third -- jobs to make ends meet. Law makers will likely then see the need to raise the minimum wage, which will in turn create even more problems.

In short, Americans are going to have to learn to live with less. And they'll learn to grow bitter about it. People almost always grow bitter over long periods of drought; especially of the financial and personal liberty variety. And their bitterness will inevitably be misdirected toward those people and enterprises who are themselves victims of Obamacares' unintended consequences.

In order to save themselves financially, many businesses will cut back on the number of employees they employ or raise their price point to cover the added cost of Obamacare, as well as cut everyone's hours, forcing most people to jump onto the 'government health plan' rolls... which was government's intention all along... to create more government dependents, thereby bolstering the rolls of the ne underclass-- the new Slavery.

Universal health care is not a bad idea.

Let me say that again. Universal health care is not a bad idea. The bad ideas are all in the implementation. Force enough people onto the government roll and more than a few private insurance outlets will shrivel up and clatter down the road like so many dead leaves in winter. Meanwhile, none of our congressmen or senators will have to be burdened with the hassles of government run healthcare-- of Obamacare --or the indignities it will foist on everyone else who can't afford a private insurance plan.

Where We're at, or Going... now... right this minute

In October of 2009 I posted the following article: A Second American Civil War? Liberal commenters complained about its length and supposed "false-logic chains". There was nothing false about the logic, merely disagreement with said logic. The point then was to illustrate that we are all puppets to government and media, more specifically to politicians and ideologues within mainstream media (it should go without saying that politicians are likewise, by and large, ideologues). Will there be another civil war? Not likely, we as a nation are too cowed by promise of cradle to grave care. We have, most of us at least, returned to the plantation.

September of last year, 2011, I posted another "Questions to Consider" entry. The main thrust of the post? What happens when 50% or more of Americans are getting a handout of some sort from the government? The answer? President Obama's victory last night.

To quote Rush Limbaugh today,

"One of the greatest misunderstandings in this country, if you boil all this down, is what creates prosperity. The Romney campaign was essentially about that, and the Romney campaign was devoted to the traditional American view and history -- vision, as well -- of what creates prosperity. The old capitalism, the old arguments of hard work, stick-to-itiveness, self-reliance, charity, helping out in the community.

"All of these things that define the traditional institutions that made this country great, that's what the Romney campaign was about. It was rejected. That way, or that route to prosperity was sneered at. That route to prosperity was rejected. The people who voted for Obama don't believe in it. They don't think it's possible. They think the game's rigged. They think the deck is stacked against them.

"They think that the only way they're gonna have a chance for anything is if somebody comes along and takes from somebody else and gives it to them. Santa Claus! And it's hard to beat Santa Claus."
I firmly believe America is lost, though not for anything Rush said today. I've talked about that in the past, and I'll remind you in posts to come, but for now, we have, as I stated in my 'Questions to Consider' from last year,

"A permanent underclass dependent upon government handouts and a permanent party power-structure in Washington... "
I wish to God that this weren't true. But I don't have the same level of faith in human nature as my liberal friends-- I know what's in me.

Despite my anger last night, and before closing my eyes, I thanked God for answering my prayer.

More on that later, as well.

What I Don't Understand

What I don't understand is why so many otherwise intelligent American citizens don't get a simple concept:

People who earn over $250,000 a year are the business owners; the ones that create the jobs. If taxes are raised on these business owners/job creators, they will not continue to offer their goods and services at the same prices. They will not accept losses in their bottom line, no matter how patriotic they are! And, that bottom line is profit

There are only two ways a business can recoup the loss of profit due to higher taxes

1. They will raise the prices on their goods and services. They will have to to keep their profit margin at the same levels as before the higher taxes were levied upon them.

Do you think they will give themselves a cut in pay? Dream on, little Liberal.

And, when they raise the prices on their goods and services, the consumer will not buy those goods or services as readily as they would have if the prices were still low, thus, making it necessary for the business owner to raise the prices yet again to compensate for the loss of sales. This cycle  will continue on and on and on until the business goes bankrupt and/or out of business, or,

2. The business owner will begin to lay off employees because he can no longer afford to pay them. If that happens, there are less people employed and, consequently,  less people who can afford the higher prices started because the business owner had to pay ever increasing higher taxes. This will undoubtedly happen to enough business owners that it will have a lasting impact on each and everyone of us, the taxpaying public.

In the end, due to ever increasing taxes, higher and higher prices on goods and services, and more people on the unemployment rolls, the Government is all that is left to provide for the people.

Now, here's a question for all you big Government loving Liberals:

How does the Government provide for the ever increasing number of newly unemployed and newly impoverished citizens? Where do they get the funds?

Naturally, by increasing taxes on the rich again, which merely exacerbates the problem the Government was trying to solve in the first place.

Then, what do we have? Government trying to stretch all the revenue generated by less and less taxes collected from the few businesses fortunate enough to still be in business despite such a heavy burden of taxes and redistributed to take care of the hundreds of thousands, possibly millions, that the Government itself put out of work.

It will mean breadlines every bit as long as those that afflicted the Soviet Union in the mid 20th century.

Do you understand, Liberals? If you do, will you be so anxious to vote for a tax and spend Liberal again?

Sadly, I still don't think you get it yet.

That's what I don't understand.

OBAMA WINS

America,
The Constitution,
Freedom/Personal Liberty,
AMERICA...

LOSES!

Assuming Obama proves to be the same ideologue he's shown himself to be throughout his first term.

The man has lied about Libya. He's lied about "Fast and Furious". He lied about cutting the deficit in half-- doubling it in fact. He's increased the amount of food stamp recipients by some 15-plus million. He has failed on so many fronts, and he's managed to keep the top job in this country, and managing it with the complicit help of a wholly corrupt main-stream media.

His policies-- unless, now that he'll never run for office again, he moderates his positions on a number of things --will utterly bankrupt this nation. But America didn't care enough to apply the brakes, to see the fiscal cliff looming large on the horizon. He doesn't care about the middle class; EVERYONE's taxes are going up, despite his lie to the contrary. But, again, he doesn't care. And America should have known better.

To say I am deeply disappointed would be an understatement. Echoing somewhat the first lady from four years ago, for the first time in my adult life I am ashamed of my country.

I am ashamed that more people than not would wish this man another four years. Truly, America is lost. This isn't something we can recover from four years from now. By 2016 Obama will have kept the only promise he intended to keep when he ran for the White House in '08: He will have succeeded in fundamentally changing this once great nation.

Some conditions, like the economy, will get stronger-- I must have some hope --but the American psyche is changed forever, but that's not his fault... it's ours.

I believe Michael Savage said it best, "liberalism is a mental disorder." I mean, it really takes a messed up ideology to see nothing wrong with abortion, and ever-growing ranks of people on public assistance; there is no stigma now on accepting a handout-- Government, in fact, encourages us to accept them. There is now no incentive to pick yourself up by your own bootstraps; entrepreneurship in America is going to dry up fast. Who will want to work eighty-hours a week to build a business when men like our president and senator Elizabeth Warren say "you didn't build that"? Who will want to work eighty-hours a week to become successful when Obama and liberals will require you to pay more of your blood, sweat and tears, so the government can support freeloaders-- defined as: those who could do well for themselves, but see no need to do so since government will provide for them.

I am myself in the beginning stages of building a business; one I would like to see become hugely successful, and it galls me to think that there are those which will shrug off the sacrifices I'll have to make in order to be successful in this brave new world, believing it's my responsibility to support, with all my hard earned success, those who won't even try to support themselves, let alone strive for success, or anything for that matter.

There is something seriously wrong with Liberalism when its mendicants [and yes, I know what the word means] applaud Bill Clinton who, a couple of days ago, told a crowd of walking brain-dead, paraphrasing, 'You don't want a president that'll lie to your face!" --This from a president who lied to our faces on national television. They excused Clinton for lying, but they sought to hang Bush out to dry with the meme, 'Bush lied, people died.' Years later trotting out a genuine liar in chief (who lied about having 'sex with that woman, Miss Lewinski,') to tell their supporters to not vote for a man who will lie to their face. Liberalism routinely crucifies conservatives for doing the very things liberals engage in... routinely. And it's mendicants slavishly nod their heads and cheer, conveniently forgetting and excusing their own of the very same sins. Only this time around it was the Obama campaign dealing and spinning lies throughout from start to finish.

I have to agree with Miss Coulter who describes liberalism, and those who have sold their souls to it, as Demonic. There is something foul, and stomach turning, to liberalism... something fundamentally evil about it. Don McLean sang about the day the music died. It's up to someone now to sing about the day America died.

America's descent is now complete.

Why, Mr./ Obama? Why?

Free Web Page Hit Counter

I have not been posting blog entries for quite some time now, and that is because I've been posting my thoughts on Facebook. This morning, I posted the following comment on Facebook, and I thought I'd share it with those who don't follow me on Facebook. Besides, we need to get the word out in all forms of media we have available to us:

I know I promised my wife and my Facebook friends that I would try to be less political, but now, in the last few days before the general election, it is becoming more and more important (for me, at least) to get the word out on what we may expect should Obama be re-elected. Many "experts" are predicting a Romney win next week, but I can't be that sure. Because the main news networks, CBS, NBC, and ABC are not forthcoming on the essential facts surrounding the tragedy in Benghazi, Libya on Sept 11, of this year, I feel it's imperative that I do my part to educate those who would rather not know these "unpleasant facts", be they Democrat or Republican. It is a sad fact that some registered voters, regardless of party affiliation, would just rather let the politicians fight it out among themselves and let the chips fall where they may.

I can't do that

People need to know, and they need to ask questions. Questions like, Why did our President refuse to help the besieged in Benghazi? We now know he was aware of the ongoing 7+ hour conflict in real time, and we know he was asked at least three times to send help, probably in time to rescue Ambassador Stevens and the others, but he refused.

I have to ask why. And, as freedom loving American citizens, all of us need to ask the same question.

Why did he stand down and do nothing to help our people in Libya?

I've heard the opinions of those who oppose him, and I've also heard the explanation from those who were privy to the decision, and none of them make sense to me.

Republicans say he did it to improve his chances to win re-election. But, in what universe would refusing to save dying American citizens help win an election?

Democrats say they didn't send in help because they weren't sure what exactly was going on and didn't want to act until they were. That explanation sounds plausible. Yes, it sounds plausible --- until we learn that later reports reveal they (Obama included) knew exactly what was going on while it was happening.

Here's something else that should make an Obama supporter ask questions:

Why did Obama blame an obscure Youtube video for the attacks in Libya when it is now clear that he knew all along the video had nothing to do with it? If I was an Obama supporter, that one fact alone would make me wonder if 4 more years of Obama would be worth the risk of voting for him again.

Why, Mr./ Obama? Why?
