What Would Liberals (Like Dan) Do?

"Liberals become indignant when you question their patriotism, but simultaneously work overtime to give terrorists a cushion for the next attack and laugh at dumb Americans who love their country and hate the enemy." ~ Ann Coulter

Over at Marshall Art's, there have been a series of opinion pieces concerning torture, waterboarding, or whether waterboarding is torture. I've made my thoughts known on waterboarding in previous posts, and actually find myself in agreement with Dan Trabue, one of the more stubborn of the opponents of torture, in that I believe waterboarding is indeed torture.

This is a point on which I tend to part ways with my Conservative comrades.

That agreement notwithstanding, I have repeatedly asked Dan one simple question regarding the use of "enhanced interrogation techniques" for the purposes of gaining important information on possible impending terrorist attacks on the United States, a question he has steadfastly refused to answer. If one would bother to ask Dan why he refuses to answer, he would undoubtedly insist that he is no longer replying to me because I insulted his Aunt. But that's an issue for another time, another place.

Instead, I believe he won't answer because he has no answer. At least no answer that wouldn't make him look a total fool.

Dan's contention is that the interrogation techniques currently in use are not only inhumane, but don't work, despite all evidence to the contrary.

With Dan's questionable conclusions in mind, I have endeavored to ascertain what methods Dan would employ, given the opportunity, to illicit the information America needs to prevent further terrorists attacks.

My question to Dan is quite simply: What would you do to obtain the pertinent information from terrorists captives that would prevent further attacks and loss of innocent American lives? In other words, what type of humane treatment would Dan deem effective in obtaining such information?

Since he won't answer the question, I have endeavored to offer a scenario that illustrates what we can only assume must be Dan's position on how to effectively obtain information from terrorists in custody:

The scene is a room somewhere on the grounds of GITMO at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. The room is bare except for a desk, and three folding chairs, upon which three men are seated, one behind the desk, one in front of the desk and one sitting at a slight distance behind the man at the desk. The man behind the desk is an anonymous CIA Interrogator. The man in front of the desk is Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, leading al Qaida terrorist. The man in back is a referee, selected by the Obama administration to make sure the interrogator doesn't employ any illegal torture techniques.

Interrogator: Now, Mr. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Please tell me anything you know that might possibly be helpful to us in helping us prevent further Terrorists attacks on America. Pleeeeeease?

KSM: You will see soon enough, Pig!

Interrogator: Aw, c'mon Khalid, pretty please?

KSM (grinning): Nope!

Interrogator: I'll give you a cookie if you tell us.

KSM: With sprinkles?

Interrogator: Uh...sorry, Mr. Mohammed, we only have chocolate chip.

KSM: Then....no!

Interrogator: OK, OK, OK, we'll get cookies with sprinkles. Someone get Mr. Mohammed a cookie with sprinkles! But remember, if I give you a cookie with sprinkles, you'll tell us when the next attack is coming, OK?

KSM: If it's a good cookie, with lots and lots of sprinkles, I'll tell you. I promise.

Interrogator (handing KSM a cookie. With sprinkles): Here. Here's a cookie with sprinkles. Would you like some milk to wash it down?

KSM: Yes, thank you. (eats cookie, and washes it down with a cup of milk)

Interrogator: OK, now. Tell us what we want to know.

KSM (grinning ever wider): Ha Ha ha! You will know soon enough! Ha Ha Ha!

Interrogator (slams his palms down on desk, exasperated): Darn! Now what can we do?

Referee: Well, unless you have a nicer, more polite interrogation technique, I guess you'll have to let him go.

Interrogator: Darn. I really thought we were close this time.

MSNBC news in background: A 747 jet airliner has just crashed into the Federal building in Los Angeles. Estimates are that there are as many as 5,000 people inside. So far there is no word on who's responsible, but MSNBC analysts suggest it was an attack perpetrated by former President George W. Bush, in retaliation for the loss of the election to our revered Messiah, Barack Obama. Now, for a word from our sponsors.

KSM: He he he he he!

The preceding dramatization could be the result of Obama's stupid, naive, "One world of Peace" political philosophy.

Not Even In Name Only

RINO Arlen Spector has left the party. Good riddance. I have a real problem with someone who jumps ship in the middle of a term. It shows an obvious tendency to care more for the power than of the opportunity to serve, and definitely more than principle. I suppose he's trying to play the "the party left me" angle. But he was never much of a conservative, so that doesn't really wash. An honorable man would at least announce such intentions to the party so that they can prepare as well as to prevent donations from those who wouldn't donate to a non-party member. What a self-serving creep. Oh well, his vote for the stim bill put him on the s**t list anyway. Now Penn Repubs can offer a candidate of principle and honor, instead of re-running this phony.

The Dems will take anybody as evidenced by the existence of Stuart Smalley, so Spector will fit right in. Power and the votes to get and maintain it is all that concerns them, and if Stu wins, which looks likely, they'll have those 60 they need to thwart filibusters. If you thought the Obamanation was ramming crap down our throats before, just wait.

There is something seriously wrong with this picture. One large contributing factor to the failing of US auto makers are the unions themselves. And now they're going to own one, albeit jointly with the US government?

Obama Administration...

...Dumbasses, The One and all!

'Ready to lead on day one' my eye...

Here's a very large dish of pudding wherein you'll find ample proof of incompetence. It's a long read, by heh! You guys are up for it.

100 Days, 100 Mistakes
Joe Scarborough, Glenn Beck & Others On
Obama's Short, Error-Prone Time In Office

Prosecution May Be A Slippery Slope

"Many that live deserve death. And some die that deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then be not too eager to deal out death in the name of justice, fearing for your own safety. Even the wise cannot see all ends." ~ J. R. R. Tolkien

The reports that Obama has bowed to pressure from Liberals are true. He had promised America that he wouldn't seek prosecution against individuals responsible for what he perceives to be war crimes, that is, rather forceful, but effective interrogation techniques, meant to illicit vital information from enemy combatants that posses knowledge of potential future terrorist attacks on our country.

But now, he has recanted, due to pressure from outspoken America-hating, "blame America first" Liberals.

Now, he has suggested that his legal department may seek legal action against the Bush administration's legal department for certain memo's they wrote regarding the method by which interrogators received information that ultimately prevented many terrorist attacks on the American people and infrastructure. At least one of these prevented attacks (the flying of airplanes into a building in Los Angeles) would have been similar to the amount of death and destruction sustained in the infamous attacks of September 11, 2001.

For the record, I personally differ from my Conservative comrades on the subject of whether the practice known as "waterboarding" can be called "torture".

I understand the practice of waterboarding is part of the standard training of CIA and other covert operative trainees. I have heard (although I can't know for sure), that no one has ever withstood more than 2 minutes under this interrogation technique. Even hardened, battle tested veterans of the CIA have failed to last more than 2 minutes.

I am loathe to disagree with so many of my Conservative heroes, such as Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, and Rush Limbaugh etc, but in my humble opinion, any technique that will cause everyone, including all CIA operatives, trainees or experienced, to break in less than two minutes is definitely torture.

How can it not be?

That said, I have no qualms whatsoever in applying any technique, torture or not, to any enemy combatants and/or terrorists, if it will save human lives.

Flaming bamboo jammed underneath fingernails? Yep. Inserting glass rods into penises and then breaking them, resulting in excruciating pain the rest of their lives every time they urinate? You betcha! Hooking testicles up to battery leads? Go for it! Attaching a bag full of ravenous rats to the face? No problem!

Whatever it takes to save American lives. Damn the Geneva Convention. They want to play rough? I say, "oblige them".

But that is not my point. So, I digress.

Not that I care if Obama gets himself into trouble, but in my opinion, Barack Hussein Obama needs to be very, very careful in going this route. Prosecuting these attorneys on Bush's staff could well be the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

If he can successfully prosecute them, what's to stop him from then going after George W. Bush himself?

This is where I believe Obama would do himself a huge favor by not heading for this slippery slope.

(I feel safe giving him this free advice because I know this will never get back to him.)

I may be wrong, and if I am, any attorneys that read this will please correct me, but there is a little term called "Legal Precedence".

Unless I'm wrong, it is very hard to break new ground, jurisprudentially (is that even a word?) speaking, unless legal precedence can be established first.

Prosecuting a former President for war crimes, or even complicity in war crimes would be a devastatingly unprecedented groundbreaking legal maneuver. And, if Obama attempts it, and is, God forbid, successful, he would be establishing legal precedence, thereby making the prosecution of a former President much easier the next time.

Therefore, should Obama go that route, he could be putting his own future in serious jeopardy.

Obama is pretty brazen, as we have seen. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he tries it. He certainly has the required arrogance.

I almost hope he tries to prosecute Bush.

It would almost be worth it to see Obama frog marched out of the courthouse in chains.

Of course, in my opinion, he doesn't have to do anything that outrageous. He already deserves prosecution for trying to mount a quiet revolution contrary to the Constitution, in his overt attempt to change the United States of America into the United Socialist States of America.

There is also another little thing called "providing aid and comfort" to the enemies of The United States of America.

And, attempting a [violent] overthrow of the United States of America.

With Great Fear and Trepidation....

ELAshley is now a gun owner. Finding a gun-safety class in this area is going to be difficult, but without that and a few hundred rounds through the chamber in target practice, it will remain empty. Now that it's in my possession, I've come to realize just how dangerous the thing is. Some may feel comfortable personalizing their weapons with cute names to show off, but to me this just a tool. And a dangerous one at that.

In Honor of Earth Day

I just drained the oil out of my pick-up and poured it into a hole I dug in the woods behind my house. Then I buried it.

Afterwards, I poured diesel all over the pile of old asphalt shingles I replaced on my roof last year and threw a lit match onto it. There's a beautiful column of rich, black smoke rising to the heavens. I'm sure it can be seen for miles and miles!

Dude! The fire makes for a good way to dispose of my spent plastic pesticide containers, too!

I'm on it!

Happy Earth-Day, Everyone!!!!!!!!

What's Wrong with This Picture?

Well, the picture too...but mainly the freaking headline!

From the AP:

Dozens 'lie down' at Capitol for Columbine event

WTF?

"Dozens" of left-wing event followers lie down and get major coverage by a left-loving media while 250,000 hard-working Americans take time off from work to protest the fleecing of the American taxpayer and are ridiculed.

What IS wrong with this picture?

A leftist will use any tragedy to further their aims of stripping basic American rights!

And ignore legitimate gripes from conservatives.

"What Works for the Kids"

Playing politics with Hope and Change in the lives of DC school children...

President Barack Obama’s Department of Education sat on a report chronicling the success of a school vouchers program until after Congress had voted not to continue the program.

That’s the report from Deroy Murdock, a media fellow with the Hoover Institution, who exposes the subterfuge in an article published by National Review Online.

The D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program allows 1,714 children-- 90 percent of them black and 9 percent Hispanic --to receive up to $7,500 to attend a private or parochial school instead of a public school in the District of Columbia, which is widely believed to have one of the nation’s most troubled school districts.

Since the program’s launch in 2004, 7,852 students have applied for these grants, and participants have been chosen by lottery.

Obama-- who said last year that "you do what works for the kids" --did not intervene as Congress scheduled the program’s end after the 2009-2010 academic year.

"Now it emerges that Obama's Department of Education possessed peer-reviewed, congressionally mandated, federally financed research proving this program's success," Murdock writes.

"Though it demonstrates 'what works for the kids,' DOE hid this study until Congress squelched these children’s dreams."

An amendment in the Senate to rescue the vouchers program failed on March 10 by a vote of 39 to 58. The DOE finally released the report on April 3. Even then, DOE researchers were reportedly barred from discussing their findings.

"You'd think we were talking about nuclear secrets, not about a taxpayer-funded pilot program," An April 5 editorial in The Wall Street Journal reported.

During the March 10 vote, 57 Democrats voted and 54 of them opposed the vouchers program.

Why? Murdock suggested, "Follow the money," and he pointed out that teachers' unions shelled out $55,794,000 in political donations between 1999 and 2008, with 96 percent of the funds going to Democrats.

The "winners" in the Senate vote, he added, are "the teachers' unions, who hate school choice, hate vouchers, and don’t give a damn about school kids when they threaten union pay, benefits, and control of classrooms."

--NewsMax.com, April 20, 2009

Government education is unconstitutional, but that point is moot... government does RUN education, if poorly. But to say the US government runs education (among other things) is a misnomer; government only mandates education and throws money at it, allowing unions to rake in the cash and run education into the intellectual ground.

Even in their own backyard of Washington DC, liberals can't see their way clear to give the most horridly educated children in America a leg up. They choose instead to hide evidence that school voucher programs work. Their concern is not the education of children, but rather, the selfish whims of unions, and the inevitable donations that keep education in America, and its resultant 18th place out of the 24 richest industrialized nations. The linked CBS article suggest the problem lies in the home, but government still throws money at the unions, and slaps down the homes in DC most in need of a leg up.

In the 2006 Program for International Student Assessment, US 15-year olds ranked 16 out 30 nations in average science scores. In Math and Science combined these same 15 year olds trailed 23 other nations. America is the richest nation on the earth and yet we lag 23 other nations in Math and Science? Why? Because of conditions in the home, as the CBS report would like us to believe? Or is it because of the death of the nuclear family in America? Liberal social-engineering? Money thrown at Unions, a chief democrat constituency, rather than families, and students who can't vote?

It's another stunning example of a poorly run government institution. Government, unconstitutionally seized control of education, then allowed unions to manage it. Unions. Entities that are in the business of representing whom? Students? Not hardly. The unions represent "teachers," and by extension their own interests.

Kanye West made the astute observation in the aftermath of Katrina that President Bush didn't care about black people. But under the continuing landfall of another devastating hurricane called Government Education Barack Obama doesn't seem to care much about black people either, let alone what's best for their children.

Resurrecting Carter

Excerpts From:

The Sting, In Four Parts
--Charles Krauthammer, April 17, 2009

Franklin Roosevelt gave us the New Deal. John Kennedy gave us the New Frontier. In a major domestic policy address at Georgetown University this week, Barack Obama promised-- eight times --a "New Foundation." ... As it happens, Obama is not the first to try this slogan. President Jimmy Carter peppered his 1979 State of the Union address with five "New Foundations" (and eight more just naked "foundations"). Like most of Carter's endeavors, this one failed ... Undaunted, Obama offered his New Foundation speech as the complete, contextual, canonical text for the domestic revolution he aims to enact. It had everything we have come to expect from Obama:

The Whopper: The boast that he had "identified $2 trillion in deficit reductions over the next decade." It takes audacity to repeat this after it had been so widely exposed as transparently phony. Most of this $2 trillion is conjured up by refraining from spending $180 billion a year for 10 more years of surges in Iraq. Hell, why not make the "deficit reductions" $10 trillion -- the extra $8 trillion coming from refraining from repeating the $787 billion stimulus package annually through 2019.

The Puzzler: He further boasted of his frugality by saying that his budget would reduce domestic discretionary spending as a share of GDP to the lowest level ever recorded. Amazing. Squeezing discretionary domestic spending at a time of hugely expanding budgets is merely the baleful residue of out-of-control entitlements and debt service, which will increase astronomically under Obama. To claim these as achievements in fiscal responsibility is testament not to Obama's frugality but to his brazenness.

The Non Sequitur: "To make sure such a crisis [as we have today] never happens again," Obama proposes his radical health-care, energy and education reforms, the central pillars of his social democratic agenda. But Obama's own words contradict this assertion. Notes The Post: "But as his admirable summation of recent history made clear, these pursuits have little to do with the economic crisis, and they are not the key to economic recovery." Obama rarely fails to repeat this false connection. A crisis -- and the public's resulting pliability to liberal social engineering -- is a terrible thing to waste.

The Swindle: The Obama administration is spending money like none other in peacetime history. Obama is smart. He knows this is fiscally unsustainable. He has let it be known privately and publicly that he intends to cure the imbalance with entitlement reform.

Fixing the "crisis," and ensuring "it" never happens again by spending in areas that do not address the "crisis," but rather creates new entitlements out of whole unconstitutional-cloth...? Obama must have one colossal pair, or he simply doesn't care about the damage his "wish list" will do to this country.

For myself, I think he just doesn't care. He wants what he wants and he doesn't care who or what gets broken to get it.

What 10th Amendment?

The reshaping, all the constitutional renovations Obama is doing right this moment in American history is largely irreversible. I knew these changes would be so the night I sent emails to this blog's contributors asking their participation in 'chronicling the fall of liberty.'

Obama's ability to do the things he's now doing has been planned, worked toward, and ultimately staged over decades of indifference and slow indoctrination, just waiting for the day the right president would gain the oval office. I don't suggest this was a concerted effort to bring about the end of constitutional America, but I do suggest that march to socialism-- steadily AWAY from our constitutional founding --has been a slow creep of decades, one progressive victory at a time, however small.

What we are witnessing is not so much the death of a nation-- the US will go on in name, if not character --but rather the end of the America our founders envisioned. No, they did not envision, phones, televisions, or any other example of 21st century technology. Had they, they might have felt like Mr. Anderson struggling with the impossibility that his mouth has suddenly ceased to exist...

And that's where we are today-- our mouths might as well not exist, for no one of consequence in government is listening. And if anyone is listening they too have discovered their own voice accounts for nothing in the grand scheme of things. Your vote on any national election day is pointless; the game has been rigged. Congress has its own agenda and nothing you or I do in the voting booth will matter. To be sure, their progress has slowed on occasion, but the march has never once ceased.

The enemy is going to take everything you once held dear. Get used to the idea, because there's nothing you can do to stop it.

Rediscovering the 10th Amendment -- too little, too late
--Larry Elder

The New Deal, launched almost 80 years ago, represented a giant leap toward collectivism. But only in the last few weeks, as a result of President Barack Obama's New Deal Reloaded, have some 20 states rediscovered the Constitution and the 10th Amendment.

[...]

In describing the constant blatant assault on the Constitution, one hardly knows where to start. The federal government runs Social Security, a 50-state Ponzi scheme that makes Bernie Madoff look like an underachiever. What about Medicaid? It is a federal/state program of healthcare for the poor. What about the Department of Education? It unconstitutionally involves the federal government in state-run education and comes with rules and mandates attached to the money.

[...]

Today large numbers of Americans, to the extent that they even know about Article I, Section 8, couldn't care less about it.

FDR personified this view at the swearing-in ceremony for his second term. He later said that when it came to the words "support the Constitution of the United States," he thought, "Yes, but it's the Constitution as I understand it, flexible enough to meet any new problem of democracy -- not the kind of Constitution your court has raised up as a barrier to progress and democracy."

We may be able to slow the progress. But honestly, how do you change the mind and heart of a nation 300 million-plus strong to return to constitutional government? How do get recipients of welfare to give up the dole? How do you get the unions out of education? How do you put God back into the hearts of minds of people who have been taught that government is god? How do you change the heart of a nation that views abortion as a viable instrument of 'family planning'?

The heart of America is corrupt, because government is corrupt.

And judgment lies at the door.

Who are the REAL Tea-Baggers?

David Shuster, Anderson Cooper, and other left-wing mouthpieces who claim to be journalists ridiculed good, honest, hard-working, tax-paying Americans this past week by calling those who attended the nationwide tea-party events, "Tea-Baggers".

But what is a "tea-bagger"? For that matter, what is "tea-bagging?

I'd be willing to bet that if a poll of tea-party participants asked this question two weeks ago, the results would show that nearly NO-ONE who participated even knew what the term meant.

But David Shuster knew. So did every democrat fag, whore, and pedophile.

I'll bet you my next-week's paycheck Barney Frank knew!

I didn't attend a tea-party event in my neighborhood. I had to work.

But I'd rather keep company with those who didn't know...or even WANT to know the meaning of the term "tea-bagging" than to place myself in a group of people who did.

The left is profane. It's liberals who are familiar with tea-bagging...not conservatives.

And it's liberal "journalists" who are unashamed to become whores themselves and interject profanity into politics.

I seriously felt like taking a shower after watching Shuster's diatribe on tea-bagging. He must know an awful lot about the subject.

Liberal Version of Free-Speech

Unbridled HATE!

Forgive Me If I'm Not Surprised

I found this Kyle-Anne Shiver piece at the poorly written and racist AmericanThinker, and the first thing I thought, aside from how it didn't surprise me, is that the book from which her information came would be a great companion piece to Arthur Brooks' Who Really Cares?, which spoke of who is the most generous and charitable. Shiver's source material speaks of morals and ethics in a more general manner and guess who comes out being the scumbags? Of course, our lefty friends.

Now, I haven't gotten to the big Survey linked within the article, except in a cursory way. I'm sure it will be enlightening. But just based on the article itself and the info pulled from the book she highlights, I would add one small caveat. As a Christian who believes we are all sinners, as well as a rational human being who sees what's what, I have no doubts that there are scumbag conservatives, though I believe, and this piece seems to back me up nicely, that they are in shorter supply than scumbag liberals. But I would also say that it is far more likely that if you were to find two people perpetrating the same immoral behavior, and one was a liberal and the other a conservative, the conservative would likely cop to his sin, while the lib would justify it. This seems to play out often in the political arena when we see conservative politicians stepping down when caught doing wrong, but the lib won't even admit he did anything wrong. In the every day, we get the very ills described in the piece perpetrated, well, liberally.

Even amongst the liberal people of faith, we get a more watered down version of that faith such that at the extremes, conservatives just shake their heads and wonder, "Why even bother?" But of course, they bother to bring about a moral relativity that satisfies them better than the time-honored example that truly brings about a better society the more folks make the effort to live up to them.

So what's the point? The point is that America's descent is accelerated by a loosening of standards, a rejection of the traditional and a rebellion against either God or His teachings, which benefit all, even those who refuse to believe in Him. And we will descend further into the abyss, the cesspool will expand as more and more people follow in the loosening, rejection and rebellion. The evidence is all around us and out in the open. The libs pretend nothing's wrong and so further and further we slide. Only the conservatives see it and name it. To us it's like watching a car barreling toward a brick wall while the driver searches for a different CD.

The libs are driving this car now, and the rest of us are passengers endangered by their recklessness and negligence. I'm gettin' car sick.

A Notable Quote

So many forces are arrayed against a return to the previous “normal” that we will be lucky, in another eighteen months, to still find ourselves speaking English and celebrating Christmas. What’s “out there” is a panorama of mutually reinforcing critical problems pertaining to how we live on this continent. Like the obesity, heart disease, and diabetes that plague the public, these problems are disorders of lifestyle habits and the only possible “cure” is a comprehensive revision of lifestyle. With the onset of spring weather and the cheez doodles and monster truck rallies and NASCAR tailgate barbeques and the drive-in beer emporiums all beckoning, can the public public shift its attention from these infantile preoccupations to saving its own ass?

Ted Nugent on the Tenth Amendment...

Posted at Human Events, last month...

Mr. President, Don't Mess With Texas
--Ted Nugent
March 18, 2009

...

In an attempt to weaken the roles and responsibilities of the states, Fedzilla has worked tirelessly over the years to destroy the Tenth Amendment by arguing the Commerce Clause of the Constitution is more important and relevant than the Tenth Amendment. As we have witnessed, Fedzilla has grown exponentially and has become a repressive force in every facet of our lives.

But there is hope for freedom, liberty and the rights of states to determine their own destinies. Even though it is on life support, there is a faint heart beat left in the Tenth Amendment. And the Great Republic of Texas, under the leadership of the good Governor Rick Perry, is joining the sixteen other states that have already made their defiant, sovereign statement of autonomy in the right way.

These states have now evoked the Tenth Amendment and declared their sovereignty to put the brakes on Emperor Obama's mob-like fiscal mandates in a dangerous attempt to strangle the liberty out of states by forcing states to accept the so-called stimulus money and thereby become slaves to Fedzilla control.

...

Any idea, anyone, what it is Texas has done, and who the other 16 states are?

UPDATE: 3:20pm / Tuesday, April 14, 2009

Okay here's a link to Texas Governor Rick Perry's official webpage:

Gov. Perry Backs Resolution Affirming Texas’ Sovereignty Under 10th Amendment
HCR 50 Reiterates Texas’ Rights Over Powers Not Otherwise Granted to Federal Government
--April 9, 2009

"I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state. That is why I am here today to express my unwavering support for efforts all across our country to reaffirm the states’ rights affirmed by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I believe that returning to the letter and spirit of the U.S. Constitution and its essential 10th Amendment will free our state from undue regulations, and ultimately strengthen our Union."

Obama's Decisions

"A weak man has doubts before a decision, a strong man has them afterwards." ~ Karl Kraus

Finally, after five days and numerous requests from the media for some reaction, any reaction, to the Somali Pirates taking an American ship captain hostage on the high seas, Barack Hussein Obama threw caution to the winds and ordered the Navy to use lethal force if necessary to secure Captain Richard Phillips' release.

The Navy, in turn, wasted little time in following these orders, which leads me to ask one seminal question:

What took him so long?

Does Obama not realize it is the United States official position to never negotiate with anyone who takes hostages?

Here is the process (I think) by which this thing transpired:

Obama, ever the attention seeker, initially, and as usual, wrongly, thought this little crisis was not worth taking his time to bother with, especially since finally deciding on a family dog was certainly a more important decision for him to make.

However, after news media continued to press him for some reaction to the situation, on which, I might add, he refused to answer, he sought the council of his advisors to help him decide which would be the better course of action. That course would necessarily be whatever action would garner him the most accolades from his adoring fans in the media (Which is practically all of the media, excluding some Fox news commentators and, of course EIB).

Probably, someone whispered to him, "You really should consider taking some strong action to resolve this matter. MSNBC is even starting to question your decision making skills."

Naturally, not wanting to jeopardize his long time loving relationship with Chris and Keith, he decided to give the matter a little more than just cursory consideration.

So, after days of carefully considering how the rest of the world might judge him, he reluctantly conceded the fact that something more forceful than shaking his fist at the pirates might be in order.

After five days, in which Captain Phillips' life hung in the balance, Obama finally issued an order, not to finally end this thing with extreme prejudice, but to use lethal force only if considered absolutely necessary to avoid further risk to the captain's life and/or Obama's political career.

The Commander of the USS Bainbridge interpreted this devastatingly forceful order as permission to send the scumbags to Davy Jones' locker. In a split second decision, as soon as one of the pirates made the fatal mistake of playfully pointing his rifle at the captain's head, the order to fire with intent to kill was issued, and the pirates were quickly and efficiently dispatched to cavort with their seventy-two virgins.

Problem solved, and in less than a minute, too.

Oh, I love things when they zip along!

Let me add here, that I applaud Obama for at last doing something right.

It's just a shame we had to wait for him to decide if such an order was politically expedient first.

Otherwise, the crisis would have been over the first day.

On a lighter note:

Obama's new dog is a Portugese Water Dog, who the girls promptly named Bo. The fawning news media immediately reported the dog was named for Bo Diddley, the now deceased rock and roller. But I'll bet he is named for Obama himself. After all, BO is Obama's initials, right?

This would fit perfectly with the observation that Barack Hussein Obama is a narcissist.

Obama Recruits ACORN for 2010 Census!?

This one needs some investigation, and if true, some serious opposition. ACORN should not be allowed to even touch the census process.

Steele: Obama Using ACORN For Census
--Dan Weil, NewsMax, April 9, 2009

..."President Obama's old friends from ACORN, the leftist, urban 'community' organization with a long history of promoting vote fraud, has been chosen by the Administration as a 'partner' with the Census Bureau to determine population counts in cities around the country."...

Counts that will determine the political makeup of Washington for the next ten years, AND rig, presumably, the next election in Barack Obama's favor.

Obama Reaches Out!

Aaaargh!

"President Pantywaist"

Funny...I thought the whole world was predicted to worship at the feet of the Messiah!

Be sure to read the comments under this article. They're wonderful!

One Man's Opinion

Weakness or Strength?
--Neal Boortz, April 10, 2009

The United States tells them not to do it. The useless United Nations tells them not to do it. They do it. It has been five days since North Korea launched a missile capable of reaching Hawaii. What is America's response? What is the international response? The silence is deafening. What are we showing here? Weakness or strength?

The mad man that runs Iran is bragging that they now have 7000 centrifuges up and running making enriched nuclear weapons-grade fuel. He also brags that they have developed a technology that enhances the enrichment progress. At the same time the Iranian president continues to say that Israel's days are limited. In the meantime Vice President Joe Biden warns Israel that they had better not even think about attacking Iran. No strong warning to Iran. What are we projecting here, strength or weakness?

The Islamic pirates continue to hold an American hostage off the coast of Somalia. We're talking, not acting. So far I have not heard about any search for the pirate mother ship and there's no talk of blockading Somalian ports. The pirates may well end up with millions of dollars and safe passage to Somalia where they will release their American hostage. Strength or weakness?

The American the ragtag Islamic pirates are holding tried to escape. He dove out of the boat and into the water and tried to get away. Our Navy was standing off and not close enough to help him. The Islamic pirates overtook him and took him into custody again. This man tried to escape in full view of American forces. They were either unable or unwilling to help him. Perhaps the American Captain thought that when he was out of the pirate's boat the Navy would blow them away. Didn't happen. Strength or Weakness?

America - once strong, now cowering.

Change you can believe in?

Muslims Are People, Too

Barack Hussein Obama says we need to respect Muslims for "what they have done for America".

What have they done for America?

The question is not what have they done for America. It's what have they done to America. And what will they do in the future?

Watch this video. Watch it all. This is truly frightening, especially with a weak spined appeaser in the oval office.

Why have we elected this man to be our President? Do the words, "Aid and comfort to the enemy" ring a bell?

Yes, yes, I know not all Muslims are terrorists, but ask yourself this question:

How many "good" Muslims have publicly denounced terrorists acts against the United States?

Those are rhetorical questions.

I already know the answers.

What Is Sedition....

...If not the deliberately subverting the our country and Constitution?

A Crisis Obama Won't Waste
--Dick Morris

...So with the tax code totally changing, Europe about to formulate regulations for our economy, the U.S. government empowered to take over any large company, the deficit and spending reaching unbelievable levels and the feds insisting on continued control of banks, what businessman in his right mind is going to invest in anything? How could even the most foolish optimist pull the trigger on a business investment without knowing the tax consequences, the regulatory framework and the policy of the banks on lending?

But Obama knows all this. He knows that his steps will delay economic recovery. But he wants these changes, not as means to an end, but as the end itself. And he is determined to get them passed and set in stone while the rubric of "crisis" justifies his doing so....

When he said Change, did anyone think it would be the kind that forsook national sovereignty, and private and corporate ownership rights? Did anyone think it would involve our national debt dwarfing the GDP of every other nation combined? Did anyone think it would involve individual economic slavery? An attempt at killing individual right to conscience? The donation of American tax dollars to provide abortions on foreign soil?

Who is this man who thinks he's king, yet bows like a vassal to foreign leaders? Who is the most dangerous man in the America today? Hint: it's not Rush Limbaugh. It's President Barack Hussein Obama. The man who bows lower to a muslim king than to a Christian queen. The man who apologizes at every opportunity, smearing the country he leads. The paper tiger who demonstrates to every dictator, despot, and enemy of humanity that he is weak... that America is weak; inviting the enemy to the gates. The man who calls himself a Christian yet sanctions and actively seeks to promote further the murder of innocent children.

I'd publicly call for his impeachment, but the "moronic" masses would accuse me of sedition and treason.

Life on Mars Finale - America's Worst Nightmare

Don't know if anyone was watching this show, it lasted but a single season... canceled. It's final episode was April Fools Day. Remember that fact.

Ben was watching this show and mentioned I should take a look. I watched a couple of episodes but didn't get it. The show was, basically, a rip-off of a successful BBC show by the same name. I've never watched it, so I have nothing to compare.

So here's the plot.

  • Cop gets shot or hit by car in 2008. Comaville.
  • Cop wakes up in 1973
  • There's a conspiracy going on, and someone is directing "Sam" the aforementioned time-traveling cop toward some unknown end
  • Throughout the episodes he's getting clues and directions, and vague promises that all will be made right.

Fast forward to the final episode:

Events lead Sam to perform 3 tasks if he wants to get back to his 2008 and his iPhone. One task is to save himself as a child. The next is just to "duck" (someone is shooting at him). The last, he refuses to even hear from the mysterious caller. Overall, pretty stupid list of tasks.

Sam decides to stay in 1973 and keep the girl, and then it happens: he faints and wakes up with a fly crawling over his face... only the fly looks like a tiny robot. Really. Some plastic lid/bubble lifts away from Sam's face and he sits up... on a spacecraft... in the year 2035 (remember this fact too).

So, all around the cabin of this spacecraft people are waking up. As it turns out all these people were with Sam in 1973, a la The Wizard of Oz...
"and you were there, and you too.."

A call comes in from Earth congratulating them on making the two-year trip to Mars... that's right, Mars. Get it? "Life on Mars"?

Turns out Sam was experiencing a personally chosen scenario to "dream" while he slept to two-year trip away. All of them were.

Anyway, back to that call from Earth: As far as I know, this is a new face, but everyone on board the ship, preparing to land on Mars, IN THE YEAR 2035, seem to know him.

Now remember those facts I told you to remember?

  • April Fools Day
  • The year 2035

The man from Earth, congratulating the crew, tells them that PRESIDENT Obama wanted to be there with him for this historic occasion (that's right, president Obama in 2035).... I nearly had a momentary mental breakdown... did the Constitution get changed so Obama could run again, and again, and again, and again? But then these words followed... "HER father is sick, but she wishes you well."

She.

Sigh... whew!... Well, I guess if John Quincy Adams can follow his father into the White House; if George W can follow HIS father George H. W. Bush, then I reckon one of the Obama daughters can follow their father.

All I want to know is, what are her parents and teachers cramming into their daughters' heads? Will there even be a recognizable "United States of America" to be president OF?

Look at all Obama is doing to radically and fundamentally change this country in just 70 days! What will he do in FOUR YEARS?

Stupidest ending of any show I've seen... in recent memory. I only say 'recent' because I can't honestly think of a stupider. And from a lot of the buzz I've heard from those who enjoyed the British version? Well, they thought it sucked too.

Obama Lies: Senate Uses Sneak Attack On Guns

from email:

As a presidential candidate, Barack Obama deliberately and repeatedly lied to America's 90 million gun owners across the country when he insisted that he would not try to take away anyone's firearms, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said.

Now House Republicans are trying to add an amendment to the public lands "Ominous Spending" lands bill that would codify the right to carry concealed weapons in national parks, less than a week after a federal judge blocked a similar proposal.

But, Senate leaders have devised a strategy to use a bill that had already passed the House -- H.R. 146, a proposal to protect Revolutionary War battlefields -- and strip its contents, replacing it with the "Ominous Spending" lands bill.

Because the House already passed H.R. 146, the Rules Committee can approve a closed rule that would block a motion to recommit, eliminating the GOP's best procedural chance to stymie the bill. The chamber would only need a simple majority vote to concur with the Senate amendment.

CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, reacting to the "Ominous Spending" lands bill tactic to force more gun control on U.S. citizen's said "the sneak attack on guns reveals the Democrats clear intention to outlaw guns everywhere" "Obama "has been lying to the nation when he says he will not take guns away."

U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly placed an injunction on the Interior rule last week. The judge's ruling infringed on the rights of gun owners as drivers in areas such as Washington, D.C., often drive through federal park lands every day. Rob Bishop (R-Utah) said "It's ridiculous for people to be subject to two different sets of regulations simply because their car moved a few feet," Bishop said in a statement. "The judge's decision last week was wrong."

"We warned America that Obama's 'support' for the Second Amendment was empty rhetoric," he stated, "and now his support for the "Ominous Spending" lands bill shows Obama was lying, and now gun rights may be dying."

"Right now," said Gottlieb, "I wouldn't take Obama's word if he said it rains a lot in Seattle. Apparently, law-abiding gun owners have nothing to fear unless they drive to work in Washington DC and park or drive in the wrong place."

What else is new? I sure hope my tax return arrives before guns are completely banned (not likely, guns won't be completely outlawed THAT quickly). Here's the one I'm hoping to buy. It's small, but it packs a decent punch.

The Overt Hatred of the Voice of the American Left

Know your enemy!

Smug & Officious Rep Grayson (D, FL) Skewered by Cavuto

What's a incredible about this video is the sense from congressman Grayson, the democrat from Florida, that he believes he is doing something constitutional. Neither Timothy Geithner, nor ANY Secretary of the Treasury, democrat OR republican, should be in the business of determining the salaries of every employee in a company. The bill is couched in terms of 'excessive compensation' for 'executives' but there's no provisions to keep Geithner from capping EVERY employees wage. As I stated in a previous post, government has given us a MINIMUM wage, and now they are poised to give us a MAXIMUM wage.

Granted, this bill is aimed, NOW, at companies that have received government bailout monies, but where will this bill end up? Will government decide in the months or years to come that its in THEIR best interest to determine EVERY company's maximum wage?
