  1. Look, all's well that ends well, but I don't think we should have waited 5 days.. we were lucky that they didn't kill the good Captain by then

  2. True. Obama should have acted more quickly. His "slow" response to this situation could have had disastrous results. Fortune, however, was on his side... this time. But again, as you say, all's well that ends well. And Obama did well. He could have done better, but he deserves some credit for the success of this operation.

  3. His "slow" response to this situation could have had disastrous results.A rash response could have been equally disastrous. Besides, the ship was taken on Wednesday and Obama ordered the Navy to take whatever action necessary on Friday and reiterated on Saturday. The fact that the events ended Sunday was the Navy's call.

  4. "...Obama ordered the Navy to take whatever action necessary on Friday..."

Which was AFTER the Navy missed it's first opportunity to free the captain because the "OK" from on high had not been issued.

Thaks for reinforcing Eric's point, Jimbo.

  5. Hey, the Captain is safe. I'm not going to argue a moot point.

  6. Hey Albo, what do you know about any missed opportunity? Show us your source for this.

    Eric, right on!

Your First Amendment right to free speech is a privilege and comes with a measure of responsibility. You have the right to exercise that responsibility here but we reserve the right to inform you when you've used that right irresponsibly.

We are benevolent dictators in this regard. Enjoy.
